  1. must agree about the at2's i've got em on my td5 and like has been said away from a junction a bit sharpish and the traction control light flashers like mad and the same on damp corners or roudabouts they tend to let go and you get the old slidies same as under braking abs going like the clappers i dont like em so it look's like a set of bfg at's for mine.
  2. im liking the vauxhall towing eyes thing good idea mate.
  3. i had one go on my disco sending the wheel straight into the back door caving it in i got a pair of new ones from here www.paddockspares.com
  4. yep sounds like the fuel pump is on its way out mate.
  5. you only have two things that can fail first one is the pump as has been said the other is the power steering box itself i would try the pump first with it being the cheaper of the 2 parts if that don't cure it then im afraid its the power steering box itself.
  6. like as been said for the better fuel consumption go for the manual because the difference in mpg between manual and auto is normally the auto does between 3-5 mpg less than a manual.
  7. sounds to me like a faulty relay even though you have fitted a new one as the relay is the only thing that has the timer to keep the glow plug power there.
  8. as for fuel consumption i recently sold my 1995 300tdi and replaced it with my current td5 but the fuel consumption was brilliant driving around town 28 mpg was easily managed and 34mpg on a run and i ain't no lightweight on the throttle either.
  9. try and get hold of a harmon cardonn system out of a disco 2 or a p38 range rover as the sub in the disco 2 attaches to the inside of the rear door it measures about 24" long by 8"wide and is only 4" deep the amp goes under the passenger seat you then get a 3 way speaker set up in the front with the tweeters mounted on the a pillar plastics and the other 2 speakers in the doors and a pair of 6 1/2" speakers in the rear doors once this system is in i think it should sound how you want it to.
  10. my 200tdi has the exact same fault its the starter motor thats knacked not the battery.
  11. also check the 2 rear heater hoses that go around the back of the cylinder head as the plastic engine cover tends to rub through them as i found out eventually.
  12. heres a couple of pics of my 2 motors my 200tdi built for offroad and my td5 daily driver.
  13. if it wont turn over then pop the bonnet and give the starter motor a crack with a bar or hammer on the solonoid if it turns over then and starts its sounds like the starter is on its way out my 200 sometimes does it if that dont work then its quite possibly the battery is naff go to a local motor factors and get them to do a drop test on the battery and that will tell you if its any good or not.
  14. yeh simple and straight forward a little time consuming but not a hard job best thing to do is remove the rad for better access foundry 4x4 do a timing belt and tensioner kit including gaskets and seals that you will need all in delivered to your home £38.
  15. in a word yes mate as they are the same door.
