  1. sorry Al.....maybe I should come clean and admit to my '49 in the corner of the shed which I started doing up in '84

...I am giving serious vapourthought to finishing it for the 60th anniversary but some more planning is req'd I feel :P

oh yeah and my 109 kept me in the shed for 3 years , never thought it wouldn't get done tho.

time is only another dimension to be stretched or compressed ;)

    cheers

  3. welcome to Land Rover ownership you'll love it!!

One of the great things about LR vehicle owners is we all have our own take on it and our own uses...I'd be a bit careful of dunking the back end into salt water tho aluminium & steel doesn't need any encouraging to corrosion

    enjoy the forum

    cheers

  4. Hi Al ,

Thats all looking very tasty....a well kitted workshop is much more inspiring than a mess of extensions and a noisy generator out the back. Top job fella.

Have you sorted your lathe switch cos I've got a few spares in the old farm installation..

    Cheers

  5. hi Adrian,

hope you are well. It was fairly quiet in the afternoon both days TBH..two venues in one day does seem to make things more challenging  . I'm hoping to do some events next year.. not sure what yet, got a bit more to do on my 90 before its ready to mot .....portal playtime i think...a couple of brackets and a widget adaptor & they'll drop straight on :lol:

    Cheers

  6. I met Turbochargers dad and brother at the weekend,(cleaned me out of diffs and shafts), I probably

saw some of you at Santers challenge but was a bit too overwhelmed by the tooled up motors and confident looking drivers,to introduce myself,it was my first challenge event.

We were the blokes in the red 88 coiler who got the wooden spoon, sorry, I mean team spirit award. :D

Hi 88Nick must have said hi at Santas at some point but if not Hi ....i marshalled Tixover Sat & whittlesea Sun ..was in my 109SW (avatar pic)

Hey Pete I'm sure you know who I mean ..she's the holder of the deeply occult info on what all those strange white appliances are in that room you don't use at home ;):P

    Cheers

hehe KC daylighters too....the SAT's had a down side too , when you did get stuck it was a lot further in than anyone on T&C's ....same as now with portals n 40" boggers I suppose

  9. I think you'll find most of the Poles are now in England - working.

:lol: nice one Jez around here the eastern bloc incomers are being told off for catching and eating carp and ducks on the rivers.

BM i saw that GPS readout and thought the same.....just a smidge of TV smoke n mirrors

  10. 7.50 SAT's changed offroading sooo much when they came out...before them it was dunlop trak-grips (showing me veteran status now  ) or t & c's..Alliance did do a nice non directional too. My V8 SIIA was great for smoky burnouts n drifting on roundabouts too.....another thing of that era .....no one had diff locks & only a few of us had winchs , those that did were nearly all mech or hydro . I did find some 10.50 - 18 SAT pattern tyres back then but they were non highway spec. Back in '89 I think a mate & I entered the arc nat winch event , each with V8 90's on SAT's , mine with a ramsey offroader leccy winch & simons with a series hydro winch . No-one else entered had coils or SAT's ......we found ourselves able to drive the whole section to the end, turn round and drive all the way out again.....it was a win but didn't feel much like it as we did no winching :D . BFG MT's arrived in the UK in the early 90's & the rest is a nice shade of sepia........

    halogen days indeed

  11. Looked at this last year with a friend of mine,

venue is the main issue really , we were looking to create something like Belgium National/Landmania with more particpation events and to include other outdoor adventure activities - microlights / powered hang gliders / mountain & BMX bikes hovercraft ( grass roots racing is mad :P ) / wilderness camping / decent music at night etc

The whole show scene does need a new approach in this country I feel....

    Step uno is venue tho.

    my tuppence worth

    cheers

  12. morning Pete ..if you need longer flexi's it might be worth trying excalibur ...I've recently got a set of plus 2" . I think Pirtek will make to order too but are a bit expensive.

    cheers

  13. Hi Old Spot ,

couple of questions: how big is the pump..looks like a 8/9 GPM size ....same as a pto pump

what pressure are you running the system at ? & is the motor on the mm the standard roller stator type?

is there any clutch arrangement on the crankdrive?

what size of tank for your set up?

I do have a spare dedicated zf74 pump/leccy valve block/pipes/brkts for a mm if anyone is looking for one.

    cheers

    Steveb

  14. Yup agreed, but the tremor in the force is a singularity really.

polish the dilithium crystal.....inertial damping will be normalized again Al.....sorry mate couldn't resist

will be in touch about the g/box soon.

back on topic are you going to have power steering on the mog ? that will always help to damp kick back..as for high freq vibes  (shimmy) just go for the biggest one that will cope with the travel on mog steering rods.

    cheers

    Steveb
