  1. Another year, another £100 increase. Thanks NFU.
  2. If the battery drops below about 10.5 volts it wont start. Mine did this if i hadn't driven it for a few days, due to a duff battery.
  3. I had a look at it earlier as I was removing the viscous fan for winter. It was loose! Ive tightened it up and cleaned the oil off. I'll keep an eye on it. If it still weeps I'll do as you say and put a blob of rtv on it. Cheers Les.
  4. That sounds like as big a job as i'd feared! Thanks Les.
  5. I suppose what i really need to know is can i undo the bolt and re-seal it, without screwing up the timing chain fixed guard thingy ma bob?
  6. Acccording to Haynes this allen bolt secures the top of the timing chain fixed guide. How do I stop it leaking? Ta.
  7. Living in Leeds. I find the only hinderance of getting out about in the landy when its snowing is not my tyres. Its the thousands of 2wd cars without snow tyres blocking the roads!
  8. If all you can hear is noise from the side air intake in a defender then you are one lucky b*****d!
  9. The reason i asked was that the boost gauge always stopped at about 15psi and I thought this was the norm. Yesterday I took it on the motorway for the first time since I flushed the intercooler a few weeks ago and It went all the way upto 20psi.

  12. I bought a '99 td5 90 from him a few years ago. With 12 months MOT. He was ok to deal with but i didn't know as much about landies as i do now. It was an ex-utility. Rear discs and pads were fubared (not sure if its an MOT failure?). Front dif exploded after about 6 months. He doesn't tart them up so what you see is what you get. When that got written off I went back to look at another maroon 90 that he'd had for ages. Blowed all sorts of colours of smoke on start up although he was adament it was ok. I wasn't so I walked away. I'd deal with him again because he doesn't add on any VAT so the prices are reasonable but just check everything. Hope my ramblings help
  13. Apparently if you win the auction he wants paying in one pound coins, so he can spend a year arranging them into chronological order.
  14. Patriot roof rack, with ladder and luggage rails...£250
  15. Dukes of Hazard style, so you can get in and out through the windows?
  16. Solved it. Must be a warning for the key fob battery.
  17. Hi, Has anyone had the following fault with a factory fitted alarm/immobiliser? When switching it off the hazard lights normally flash once and the interior courtesy light goes on. Last night the hazards didnt flash, but the courtesy light came on. When switching it on the hazards flash three times as usual. Thanks, Matt.
  18. I think we'd better start saving up for next years insurance increase: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-12400659
  19. My mistake. I was thinking of the alternate swivel seal thread. I'd be interested to know too as my bro's swivel seals need replacing.

  22. 2009 i had an accident which was 100% the other parties fault. It didnt effect 2010 insurance. They say its due to the current market and insurance premium tax has gone up.
  23. Tried a few offices but they wont budge. Just point me back to my local office.
