  1. Thinking you may not be wrong their Les
  2. Thanks Will,, the cable is direct back to the batteries
  3. I ran both Tom-Tom & MM on the old XDA 11, was a pain swapping over , the sd cards were easy enough, but you had to do a soft reset, as each ot the program used to hog the gps port, (Mark90 helped get round that one, ) so have not bothered with the orbit, If i am going to need MM, take the old unit or laptop !! As a phone and road satnav, well happy with the orbit
  4. ?? Tony, since when did MM cover Europe ?? got a link please
  5. I recon the goodyear's (no1) give her a more subtle look
  6. Sorry mate, still in used, and doing a sterling job, Will have another look in the morning, may be a Ericsson flip phone somewhere ??
  7. The Orbit is my daily phone, now loaded with TT 6 ? on a 2g card, so covers Europe, (about 1.2g used), The built in GPS works well, even indoors !! only problem, its fiddly to change/remove the sd/sim cards !! At present, have left MMap on the old XDA 11, a bigger screen, and some how prefer it, as the button are that much bigger, and i am still after 4 months with the Orbit, more familiar with the old one, Can not see why MM should not work on the Orbit,
  8. If so,, try this thread http://forums.lr4x4.com/index.php?showtopi...amp;hl=co-pilot
  9. Mark,, Does "co-pilot" ring a bell !! ???
  10. No problems James,, remember, its covered under Steve's lifetime warranty !!
  11. Steve Absolutely , could not agreed more, done a fair bit of work !! am thinking motor myself !! as was fine for near 3/4 of the pull, then the thinnish cable form the -neg terminal on the back of the 24v alternator ( Jim, the l/h one is the 24v one, !) to the twin battery pack D Jim, its this small gauge cable that melted on the pull, that's now been replace with a heavy gauge one, that gets hot, ie near melting again within 2/3 mins, just re spooling the line back on !! (only when winch working) Landyman.. agree, heat in these cable, is not good, Thanks for the input so far !! Need to sit down and trace what cables are going where !!
  12. Still here, and also, yep, i, or rather the workshop did once put mine on the wrong way !! no difference !! hey, i may know more that i though
  13. First chance i have had to look at a problem with my 8274 !! (24v system, with twin batteries & second 24v alternator ) During JST's last 4x4Adventures Winch Challenge, had to recover a dead V8 up a steepish bank, about 120 foot pull, seamed not a problem, with a couple of min halts on the way up, near the very top, the winch started to slow, together with a burning smell, which was quickly traced to the earth lead (?) from the alternator, back to the battery, Today, replace the lead all the way through, and tested,,,But now get very hot quickly (ie shorting), and the motor is still slow, and also get warm in a very short place of time !! So before pulling it all to bits,, what do the panel think,, any pointers appreciated !! (and replies such as buy a steam/hydraulic one, put the 8274 in the bin and get a proper winch, etc etc and not a lot of help, thanks ! )
  14. Personally Tony, i would put the new to front, !! Working on, 1 the extra grip ! might postpone putting in the front locker a bit longer, so saving joints/shaft/breakages, 2 ? Better front end grip to get out of ruts 3 Help reduce understeer on slow muddy corners !! But, then, what do i know !!
  15. Was only reading between Dans lines,, in other words, put one.s finger and sort the TD5 !!
