Don't use expanding foam it's open cell and holds water. Use waxoyl etc as above.

I don't know the weight but would definitely use a trailer it's a bit big to man handle up there.

I was under the impression the reason for under sized heads was for torque settings. ie 10mm head is this torque where as a 13mm head is that torque regardless of thread size. This system makes it impossible for a half Witt to over torque them as a 10mm socket driver is only set to one torque.

Less than a month to go. Can you tell i'm looking forward to it (nothing at all to do with the fact I'll be kid and wife free) just wish I had some time to get the ibex finished.

Sounds about right when I first put the 110 on the road I had to rotate every fuse to get things to work.

Welcome rab it's nice when people say hello but not essential there is plenty of members that have never posted but that doesn't mean they don't read lots.

Surely it would be better to sell the 5 door cage and buy a 3 door. A 5 door cage is probably worth more and more saleable.
The floor is a different height the 5 door bolts to the floor then to the chassis. The 3 door bolts to the wheel boxes then to the chassis.

You could fit later 110 sw seat belt mounts to your hard top they take the upper shoulder mount and the reel. They fit between the capping and roof joints but I see no reason they couldn't be fitted half way down the hardtop.

That's a whole different kind of special.. but I can see the overall appeal I quite like it (ignoring the bodges).

Daft question but have you tried Volvo lorry/car track rods as it would surprise me if their taper was different. I would of thought they use one taper for all vehicles.

Trust me there's no rivet counting on my part. Mines the wrong colour, wrong engine, it now has the right gearbox, wrong seats, rather a lot of filler one side, wrong wheels/tyres and the rear sides/alpine windows have been plated over. Oh and the chassis has a lot of plates.
Hmmm I guess I'm counting the rivets I don't have.

Just a thought the Salisbury steering bar is cranked so might be worth a look there was one on eBay recently.

I've got the 110 on the road and several mini based kit cars in storage (a friend's garden) oh and the ibex in his garage. I not even going mention the house (any body seen my kitchen I'm sure I left it here somewhere).

I'm going to revive this thread as it has some great pictures from last year's event.
So this year's event is 17th-18th September. We will be running the night event again and this year there will be a bbq between the day and night sections.

Shirelrc is attending the Tracks across the field event this coming weekend. This is basically a tractor working weekend. They usually have approximately 100 to 120 tractors over the weekend. They have a large field with horse ploughing, horticultural machines, beer tent and a few trade stands, display tractors and our club display for the weekend.
They have on site toilets and fresh running water. They do not charge for entry.
The event is located in Froxfield Hampshire on August 20+21, just opposite the Trooper Inn Pub (GU32 1BD)
They have a large field with lots of space for exhibitors and another large field which is for working tractors. It is a good weekend with a relaxed theme.
We will be there all weekend relaxing and talking rubbish mainly pop in and say hi.

Pre production are 82 Y plates ours is a production 83 Y plate. I specifically went looking for a Y plate ours is tatty and modified thus a sensible price when we bought it. We wanted an early one and I'm happy to learn it's earlier than I thought. I was thinking launch may of been January as all the pre productions seem to be 82 Y's.
I'm pretty sure ours went through the equivalent of special vehicles as it has a second tank, vacuum tank for coupled brakes and hand throttle. One day I'll send off for previous owners list and see if it was a utility company vehicle.

Cool thanks that places ours very early. Registered within two months of launch. Definitely a keeper then shame it's not standard but I don't mind.

The only problem with routing the intake outside is you make your noise problems into your neighbors problem. That may not go well....I route the air intake outside using some flexible hose with a cone filter on the end - massive drop in noise - in the past I've even just put an old discovery air filter box on the intake and that dropped noise significantly..
The generators we fit on boats are in boxes with open cell egg box style foam on the inside and a barrier in front of the inlet (as already mentioned) again covered with foam.

It should be straight. You could try to straighten it but if it cracks or breaks it's useless having said that it isn't much good now so you have little to lose.

Both webasto and eberspacher make similar units to the mikuni.

I'd try adjusting it first like you say it sounds like it's not fully engaging.

If it was a parallel hole it would be impossible to stop it rotating whilst tightening. With a taper a little pressure causes enough friction (normally) for you to tighten.
