Your standard diffs from a coil sprung vehicle should be 3.54:1 ratio, the only minor difference is a Discovery 1 rear diff has a three bolt prop flange compared to the 'normal' four bolt flange. You can swap the flange if your donor diff dosen't match the prop.

200tdi series disco 1 input flange is a standard 4 bolt flange and the last year of that series were 24 spline.

So I got brave and showed this to the wife this morning.

Her response: "Not unless you want to be single."

A tempting proposition, but I'd probably get left with the two tiny terrorists which would mean even less (i.e. none) tinker time.

So, that leaves you TSD - rescue it into the LR4x4 family.

If it makes you feel better my wife doesn't like them either. However she said she can't see it when she's inside! ;)

  3. I'm pretty sure your "painting guy" owes you sufficient favours to drop what he has on to paint it for you. We already have a plan hatched to give you spannering room. Your d3 is getting old now.....I can go on....and on too.

The wife is doing a uni coarse so she's on her computer most nights so I pointed out in was bored. After a little persuasion she agreed I could bring it home.

  5. Personally I would go ep9 or tds for the money you won't beat them. I believe the land rover chassis isn't rated for any more than 9000lbs and the higher rated often are only geared down from 9000lbs to get the higher rating thus slower. I had an ep9 on my tomcat and have one in the ibex. I would also only use 11mm plasma I have a 9 year old plasma on the fairey 525.
