I have a suggestion, buy a decent filter and stay away from BP completely

Fair one Mike, So have I too, hence why I was making the suggestion.

Doesn't anyone use an LED head torch?, I do-leaves your hands free and only shines where you look, Mine runs off of a single AA battery and lasts ages-been using them for years and very handy.

Have you got all of your earths connected to where they should be?

What about a small commercial pick up load bed?-a tape measure is your friend on this one.

Let's build a wicker 88 and burn LR's chief creative design chap in it ?
Damn fine Idea

Are they trying to put the rubber seal in-inside out i.e.: with the rubber filling strip part of the seal on the inside of the roof and not the outside as a mate of mine trying to reduce someone trying to remove those windows tried and failed to do it as I typed above?

No Mr design director/chief creative director ! No one in the market for a functional, reliable working type 4wd utility vehicle "has to live with it" you arrogant Berk! Not while your competition continue to offer vehicles that tick all the above boxes they don't !

He's a very arrogant person( I do feel very very strongly about the man but could be in a lot of trouble on here for publicly repeating what I have in my head ), to say "they'll have to live with it" Is like saying this remould tyre is ok but not as good a quality as the mainstream tyres-but it'll do, What utter tosh!!,
It's people like him making decisions on the next generation of defenders that'll be the end of the utility side of Land Rover as we know it, The current defender is and has been in It's current guise well equipped (Up to a point-barring the modifications that people like us do) to do the job of a lot of utility companies and charities and militaries around the world, Yes o.k. It maybe behind the times as regards to a few things but I can really see it's going to be someone like Gerry McGovern trying to re-invent the wheel
Leave the damn thing alone and be done with it!

Good morning all,
I'd like to thank Martin at Rocky mountain spares for good service and very quick delivery, I ordered a couple of temperature gauges and the T'box oil cooler device I've been hankering after for ages at 11:35am yesterday morning and they've just arrived through the door at 10 am, To say I'm impressed is the understatement, The quality of the gear seems very good too.
I have no connection with the above company but thought people should know thats all

I agree John but if he can use the viscous and cowling it will be far better for the engine than the electric fan solution.
We've had very regular discussion on here and other boards with many accounts of vehicles running without fans etc., but there are also accounts of overheating & damage... It all depends on what you read and when...
The Op clearly has the space now but is considering moving the engine forward. I'm just trying to make sure that the advice offered is balanced and that fitting an electric fan might not be the best solution for the engine, even if it helps to fit a gearbox they have at their disposal.

Wheres the like button when you could do with it ? lol

I'm going to go for the 5 when I resurrect the mig with a new liner in the torch, screws to hold the cover over the works and some new wheels. It was only the cylinder rent that made it get put away. There is a Hobbyweld agent just over a mile away from home and an Acetylene is already on order so that the BOC acetylene can go back as I think next week end will see it empty as I have some steel plates to flange for a new tender for my steamer.
Phil I got my liner from here: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/161204741051 and it's silly cheap and works really well too
and Chris i got my regulator from here : http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Argon-Co2-mix-or-Argon-Single-Stage-2-Gauge-Mig-Tig-Regulator-c-w-6mm-tail-/131140022571?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item1e888df12b

Mmmm......
Blue touch paper alight....
The viscous fan and cowling are there to provide adequate cooling.... They work hard when needed and can provide much more cooling that electric fans.....
Nuff said...
Neil
Neil, I'm assuming that by the original poster already fitting a 200 tdi and having the disco gearbox that he's used the disco 200 configured lump instead of a defender one-hence why i said about the electric fan and not buggering about with the engine mounts,
I could be wrong about the assumption of course lol

I can't believe 33 people have bid on that .... I think this is a sign humanity has gone too far and a cull is required to cleanse the gene pool
Oooh-oooh please sir can I do it ? Seriously though, Life is bonkers enough without
clownspeople bidding on stuff like thatJohn

HI could anyone please tell me if i would have to change the props on a 110 if i was to put a discovery 200 tdi gear box into it ? i have put the engine in but it sits away from the rad so my thoughts are to put new engine mounts further forward and fit the disco box .
Hopefully after fitting the 200tdi engine mount it stop the vibrations to lol
You could always go down the route of fitting a mondeo electric fan like I did and leaving the engine and box in situ where it already is and save yourself a RPITA

And some security-If you don't already have some too?

Tut tut, you really should be able to spot between a RR sport and en Evoque...

Have you got the clutch plate lined up properly? or have you reused the spigot bearing as sometimes that can get a little bit deformed and will cause a similar problem to what you describe as i've had it on my 90 and a 110 before
