  1. As does mine, I wish I had a pound for every I've been woken in the night by the clatter of the compressor because I've forgotten to turn it off !
  2. Fantastic thanks, mine have the push button so must be SIII :-)
  3. To be fair he did phone and apologise after trying to find another supplier, and monies returned. Still no luck with the illusive nut, I may have to make one by cutting a bit off the end of the tube, desperate measures but I need to up and running on Sunday.
  4. I have some Series doors, the tops are rotten, I was going to repair them but now think for 20 quid I'll just get new frames. My problem is I can't remember if they are SII or SIII doors and the door tops are different part numbers, can anyone tell me please if they are interchangeable or how I can tell what doors I have ?
  5. Thanks chaps, I did find them just wanted to check others had a good words to say about their loom.
  6. For those running replacement steering bars, can anyone tell me where I can get a left handed thread lock nut ? Looks like the original part number was 624018 for a 101FC however LR don't make them and none of the major stockists have them in stock.
  7. Afternoon, Can anyone recommend a replacement loom for a IIa ? The old girl has one light that works and that's it, think it's time to replace all that poor wiring that has been bodged for the last 50 years.
  8. Seems none of the big suppliers have one, obsolete part and all that, looks like I'll have to get one made :-(
  9. Thanks for that I had found lrseries but not brit-car, many thanks.
  10. Does anyone know where I can get a left handed thread, lock nut for a draglink, part number 624018 ? I put my spare in a safe place, and well, you can guess the rest.
  11. Shame, last time I attended one of your events like this the RTV had taped off the best parts of the site, and they stayed that way for most of the day.
  12. Is the whole site going to be open or are parts going to be taped off ? Will be a drive anywhere day or a follow my leader round a set course ?
  13. There is the West Sussex mud monsters site, usually open on the 3rd Sunday of the month tho may no be open in Feb depending on the rainfall, when it's wet even the access fields become undriveable.
  14. Thought I would update this as it may be of some help to someone, my replacement AMR 4886 lasted a couple of months and then it to died. I purchased a convert your car to central locking kit on ebay (item 170432752017) took most of yesterday to fit. The replacement lock motors fitted as a direct replacement of the originals with no modifications (they must be a standard size) and the wiring loom was also a perfect length with the ECU mounted next to the main fuse box, the central locking is 100 times better then it ever was, it even looks like the flick out key can be cut to fit the ignition.
  15. Ours has just done the same thing, the ECU is knackerd, in our case I have already bypassed the spider so with the ECU unplugged everything works with the exception of the central locking, my plans for the weekend are to find the feed for the central locking and bypass that so we are not at the mercy of Mr Lucas's little boxes of failure.
  16. Thanks for that, so if I can find the trigger wire to/from the ECU then I can remove another of the dark lords little boxes
  17. Over the last 6 months or so the ECU's on our 300Tdi have been slowly failing, spider, window and now the Alarm, I've by passed the spider and by re-soldering all the joints on the window ECU got that working again but I fear the Alarm one is toasted. My question is has anyone managed to get the central locking working from the key without the ECU in place ? or has anyone got a spare AMR 4886 (two button remote) in good working order ?
  18. Why thank ewe. My son was watching a video of our last trip to Broxhead on youtube yesterday, it was older then he was ! Given the choice I would always goto Slab but Broxhead would make a nice change. Cheers, Geoff.
  19. I thought I recognised those names, Hello Jon and Nige, nearly finished all the structural work on my 90 so Horgmore will be a chance to get all the new bits dirty, with luck Lyndon will be back on his feet and we can drag him out as well. Don't suppose you know of any dates coming up at Broxhead ? Not been there for years. Cheers, Geoff.
