Let's hope he approaches it with more intelligence than the TFL guys, they couldn't stop whining about how they're too stupid to understand how lockers work.

"... Apparently, the electric Rangie's traction control distributes wheel-slip management to each individual electric drive control unit, as opposed to burying it in the ABS. This, claims Range Rover, reduces “the torque reaction time at each wheel from around 100 milliseconds to as little as 1 millisecond”...."
Very interesting! So that means they're going for 4 individual motors instead of the more common 2-motor setup?

Doesn't deliver to Europe, but a great site to figure out what the hell things are called sometimes

That'll work very, very well!

Not sure about weighs for trailers but that sounds light for a big trailer, might be worth actually getting it weighed first, most scrap yards could do this for a small donation to the coffee fund.
@Escape's triple axle tiltbed Ifor is about 800-850kg empty. Probably a good chunk less now without that tailgate. So definitely plenty of capacity left. If you can transport a D3, you can transport an empty container...
Center of gravity is probably the biggest issue, but also not a huge issue I would think.

The Td5 speedo just takes a pulse input, right? Would it be an option to use a sensor mounted to a driveshaft and translate that to the required input?
Or grab it from the ABS sensors/ECU, if you have it?

That's some impressive damage!
Good to know that the XC90 handles the wading well. A lot of modern SUVs seem to be rated for deep wading, my GLE even states it as 50-60cm depending on options selected. With a nice bow wave you'll probably get away with more, as long as you don't float away.

Cunning.
Looks like you can just swap out the ID in the URL and get a bunch of different models:

https://parts.jaguarlandroverclassic.com/parts/index/hierarchy/id/25/brand/land-rover/ (L405)- 2

I don't see why it would be an issue other than a bit of wind resistance. As long as it doesn't hang over too much, all good.

No, that looks like an MLS gasket, shouldn't need anything extra.

Ok - thanks. I found the exact same thing on ebay for £15 all in, so I'll go for that.
Be a bit careful with knock-off FTDI stuff. As I recall using the official drivers with a non-official chip will brick said chip, not sure if that's still the case.

Looks like the same sort of adapter you need for the EAS cable. I did a writeup of that here, includes a link to the adapter on Digikey. But the one you linked is probably the same ish.

Tried doing some more modelling yesterday. It's driving me up the wall at the moment. I'm not sure if the scan is bad, or the chassis on @Escape's car is crooked, but I just can't get any symmetry out of it. I'll have to verify some more measurements with a tape measure, with some luck it just did a bad correlation with combining scans, but all the lines look correct, the LH chassis rail is just at an angle and about 7mm out from what it should be according to RAVE
Also, Fusion really can't handle the huge mesh. Seemingly not helped by needing to push it to the cloud every time you save, which you have to do often in case it crashes. This is on my powerful laptop with an i7 7700K, 1060 (mobile) GPU, and 32GB RAM...
So any frustration from a potentially iffy mesh is amplified with frustration from Fusion constantly hanging.
Looks like it's the car, and not the scan Well, also That means I get to take my bumper off to check how differently crooked that one is...

Not my cuppa either but I must say that at least JLR's lineup is a lot cleaner looking than 90% of the other stuff on the roads that looks like it's in competition to be as ugly and overly-complicated as possible.
Volvo/Polestar are doing the Scandi minimalist thing quite nicely but the rest of the field seem fugly as hell.
The GLE (non-coupé) is about the only SUV outside of JLR's lineup that I can stand to look at, but it's certainly no looker. Everything else seems to have all dem anglez all over. Especially the Japanese stuff, barf.
But still, the D5 is just a needlessly ugly thing. If it actually had had a spare wheel on the back, it wouldn't look nearly as godawful.

At least that's the nice thing about brass rads - you can solder it up if needed.
I ran an epoxied plastic rad for years. But that was a small crack, a dent like that would've definitely shattered the plastic tank.

Maybe Solidworks does it better, dunno. Small meshes should be fine in Fusion. I just jumped in with a huge mesh, that hasn't been optimised at all.

60k is entry level these days then?
Mind you even if I won the lottery I'd be more likely to spend 100k+ on restoring my fleet of old bangers than on a single new car whatever that might be.
Sadly, pretty much. Even a C-class gets there pretty quickly...

Regardless the RR started at £104k...
Yup, the Defender is very much the entry level "proper" Land Rover now, anything else with low range (FFRR, RRS) start at ludicrous prices.

The shell of my old front bumper is in decent shape and just sitting there
Of course, would be glad to have another one of mine cut out as well, just decide before I get the rear bumper sent out to the laser guy.

Just remember that sensors - especially lambda sensors - can be easily confused by stuff that is not as they were expecting. For example your temperature gauge is not accurate if all the coolant falls out, and Lambda sensors are very easily damaged or clogged up or just confused.
Excess unburnt fuel, burnt oil or coolant going down the exhaust can clog them up and "blind" them, and exhaust leaks throw them wildly off (because they're measuring oxygen and a leak means air gets sucked in).
If it smells rich, it's rich, even if the lambda sensor has gone blind and is swearing you need 50% more fuel - trust your nose and the seat of your pants!
I know, hence why I don't trust what it's saying. Plus the injectors are still a bit of an unknown, might be better to get those taken care of before we try and tune anything.
