  1. you can even run HGV for private use with no tacho its purely for commercial use / profit making once you go over 3500KG and there have been murmours that they are going to bring it down to 3000KG so even couriers running transits will come into it. And when they pull you it takes some explaining / convincing that you are running private and not commercial having been pulled twice in my 110 with a 3500kg 14' flat bed trailer on running purely private once with a digger on the back that id bought for building an extension and second with tractor parts and agricultural parts for our small holding. so it is worth running tacho if it is commercial.
  2. Hi i am looking at replacing the front chassis leg on my 110 and have seen replacements for sale but was wondering if any one had fitted one and how long they are as the chassis is bad back past the steering box. so if the replacements arent long enough i will just fabricate the replacement plates myself. any advice or experience would be appreciated. thanks
  3. we have fitted one on a mates 90 and it seemed well built when it arrived
  4. The chain sounds feasable as the ujs are all good is there any specific tests for the chain or just take box to pieces and have a look? Thanks
  5. tested the unit earlyer all seems ok but still drive train making noises and sounds like someting has let go again i ony replaced the back diff 2 weeks ago. any ideas on what could be causing this?
  6. I have a P38 4.6 HSE that i suspect that the viscous coupling has gone on, i haven't done the front wheel test yet but have blown 1 diff 2 weeks ago and i think its gone again by the sound and feel of it driving im going to investigate tomorrow i was just wondering what the exact steps are to test it and also how to test one that's out as i have a spare gearbox and transfer box of unknown condition that i can remove one from if its good. I have no idea how easy they are to change either so any advise would be appreciated. Thanks Sam
  7. Three Phase only runs as a the three phases and a combined neutral earth on main lines up to the meter were they split the neutral and earth as they go back to the same point on the transformers in sub stations. so your welder will be fine connected with the three phases and earth that is how mine runs.
  8. You can buy adaptors to fit a CO2 reg onto an argon mix cylinder and the regs do work as i have a CO2 reg with an adaptor on my mig. from memory machine mart sell them.
  9. Ive got an E reg 110 CSW 3.5 V8 on LPG and Im paying £600 third party fire and theft with aviva and im only 19 wich i dont think is a bad price knowing what sum friends are being charged for litle cars I think its just insurance has gone silly and its worth shopping around as my renewal quote when i still had a discovery was £1000 cheaper staying with aviva as to the lowest other quote i got!

    CV's

I think that i have a CV joint on its way out as it is making some horrible noises when cornering! i was just wondering if there was an easy way to check without striping the front swivel assembly? Thanks
  11. I have an industrial clarke compresor that i got second hand and it has never let me down yet and i use it relativly heavily with air tools, spraying and blasting and even with a relitivly small syphon feed blast gun it only just keeps up even at •23cfm displacement - twin cylinder, 2-stage compressor pump •200 litre horizontal air receiver (CE certified) •5.5hp motor, 400v / 3ph motor continously rated with overload protection •10bar (150psi) maximum working pressure controlled by a fully automatic pressure switch. and a friend has a clarke compressor of simillar size to the one you are looking at and it has never let him down in the few years he has had it.
  12. The test is reversing in to a space, a breaking thing from 20mph stop in length of vehicle, coupling and uncoupling and then general driving all done at test center other than the driving bit!
  13. To support Adam, Ive Just passed my B+E today and yes the slowing down approaching traffic lights that have been green for a while or have a pedesrtian waiting is the correct thing to do or atleast thats what my instructor reminded me this morning before the test. As for stopping at lights and failing I think alot of it is down to the examiner. I belive that the traffic light cameras take 2 pictures and then it is reveiwed before issuing a penalty
  14. I have an LED lenser one for work and they are brilliant never had a problem with it and very bright but as said above light drops quickly when batteries start to go flat.
