i fitted my EGT probe on my 200 on the turbo outlet simply cos it was the easiest place to drill & any swarf goes out the exhaust,
Also cos i did this
-
sorry lads but thats a late pump with the lecky stop solenoid,
from here even with my squinty vision i can see a throttle cable
-
no tony
was winching the rear end of the landy sideways and up a bank without drive assist, as driving would have put me in a bigger predicament
ok fair enought, there alot of force there, but ive done harsher things on the winches than that
i would have expected the mainshaft to snap before stripping a gear in fairness, what shocked me more was the fact its running a 5.6 bowmotor which are gutless IMO
mike, im stocking up for march already
ill getcha big time with the prank ive got planned for my team mate
dan
touch my tent or sleeping bag & ill lay an otter in your snorkel

judging by the other thread you want to fit a M8000 & that wont happen...................
Then again by the time youve finished what you started the kettle will have boiled
"why my coat, thank you...........
oh along with my tin hat "
-
Even the venerable M8000 can outpull an 8274 at full load :-)
Now that i would like to see,
Most M8000's are slower than a week in jail

is this any good for whats been discussed?

http://www.autoanything.com/winches/20A50394A2.aspx bought one from here last year shipped by fed ex
what was your total including shipping & duty Etc?
Just noticed they sell milemarkers B)
best step away
-
Even with import duty on that's cheap. What can you do M8000 for?
Oh and a proper winch is one that doesn't need a shed load of mods to work properly (ducks behind parapet again, grabs steel helmet and sticks fingers in ears
fit like a hydro?
Just got to make sure theres plenty fuel in your truck before comencing winching

scuse the carp geography but out of the rounds what one is furthest north?

They are supposedly the puppies nuts... It is the BMW M57 engine. Depending on the age they come as standard at 184HP, ~224HP and the twin turbo at 284HP B) B) B) .
All have vaible inlet guide vanes on the turbo, so have good low doen torque. No LR gearboxes good enough for these though. They alegedly have the best power to engine wieght ratio of ~3.0 ltr size diesels. Only down side seams to be getting the electric's to work. When I discussed with Jeremy Fearn he knew how to surmount this. Also said that none of the racers he had supplied engines to had ever had to strip an engine - 'it's a BMW mate'.
So would you chose a 2.5ltr TD5 tuned to an aleged ~200HP, never sold by LR in that form, exhaust manifold will fall off etc. Or go for a 284HP engine as deemed reliable enough to be sold in a beamer????????
Only issue then is what axles and gearbox do you use.

i smell a vapour build

wouldnt mind a sticker if you have spare ones pete

I beleive Gigglepin do something similar on their modded 8274 drums
borrowed seen the idea on another truck
-
having just watched chris jones winch himself through a bog at the baskervile that slowed almost stalled a twin 8274 hydo sounds goooood,
wonder what the going rate is for a xp powered 8274
i think ill keep watching this thread with interest B)

on my 8274 stuck it through the hole & tied a knot in it, on my Tmaw welded a small bar across the side so the rope goes through it & tie a knot

Hi Sooty
I might sound a bit daft, but what does FMIC mean and what is the advantage of running a 300 pump??
Regards
Ole.
FMIC- Front mount inter-cooler
the pump i have on mine is a "wolf" one which IIRC is more tuned than standard, theory being is should give more fuel,
more to the point i was in the right place at the right time & got 3 o them & a day later my 90 ate a pump so it got fitted
-
fitted a southdown axle guard which protects both the diff & the track rod,
so far so good
-
Makes a V8 look like quite a good idea - 160 as stock (or 180 from a 3.9) and similar MPG, buy the whole lump for the price of a jazzy turbo and have zero lag
...I'll just climb up on this stake while you light the fire
why thank you.....
Strikes match.......
what about those with lowly 3.5's with 134 bhp?
Cant run a V8 on free fuel
-
have a FMIC on my 200 def along with a straight through exhaust & a tweaked 300tdi pump,
makes 140 bhp @ 16psi o boost & does mid 20's MPG
18 psi o boost & 17mpg = about 150bhp at the fly ish

my dads doing recovery (piper2) & i might pop down since the works sponsering the event

the Silver Landy is Team Moonbuggy, Priit drives it with Indrik doing the running. Priits a hell of a driver, he big strong and ugly but as yet he's not carbon monoxide resistant. deep water, sealed cab, exhaust exiting in a normal place and swamp acting as a filter to remove that nasty exhausty smell.... if I ever see the moonbuggy with its windows fitted again Im going to chainsaw them into pieces.......... I 'kin sh*t myself that day.
ahhhhh makes bit more sense now
never thought id see those 2 words in the same text- landy & sealed cab
