  1. Yes, it can be tested on gas, its tested on the fuel its running on when you present it to them.
  2. True, they are overpriced generally. But with a trade card & a suposedly lifetime warentee their tools were well priced. It was good in the past to be able to pop down on a Sunday afternoon to buy the tool required or swap the broken tools over for a replacement. It used to be that you hand over the old tool & find the replacement on the shelf with no questions asked, not even any paperwork to exchange them. Times have changed though. Obviously they are spending too much money honouring their lifetime warentee!
  3. All their new tools are quite poor quality now. I think the manufacturer changed when the tools changed from Halfords professional to halfords advanced, the quality certainly did. I have also had problems getting replacements for brocken sockets, spanners & ratchets as they now want to see an original purchase reciept. I have bought various tools over the past 10 years & their reciepts are only printed on thermal paper which fades & can't be read after a few years. 3-4 years ago I would have recomended their tools, now I wouldn't touch them. No big loss in my opinion but as they have a lifetime warrentee I think they should honour it!
  4. You might be able to get tools cover separately. Its more aimed at buisiness although it may be of use, I use it for both business & personal tools/equipment cover. I have my van contents insured for 10 Grand, costs 3 quid a week. But have cheaper cover from 77p per week. My link They seem okay but I have never had to make a claim as I try to minimise the risk. I know they won't cover Laptops & they expect items of value to be in the boot or covered so they aren't easilly seen. Just basic precautions.
  5. What about the brake caliper rebuild kits. They are terrible! Don't know how they can sell such poor quality parts for a safety critical component.
  6. Aren't you supposed to remove the wading plug before you go off-road through deep water, you won't have water around all your timing pulleys for long this way & won't get burnt!
  7. Could you fit 2 fuel pumps or is it a diesel with only the lift pump on the block?
  8. If you have the same mass of material the tube will be stronger. Solid bar the same diameter as tube would be stronger but really really heavy.
  9. I think the LT95 is a manual box, 4 speed but I may be wrong. Is it the TF 727 box you've got? The early 3-Speed Auto or the ZF4Hp22 4 Speed?
  10. What? You mean it makes it look ugly!
  11. I wonder if this offer was just too good to be true. Entered my details a few weeks ago & still nothing has arived. Has anyone had their free sample?
  12. Looks like a well built product from ARB as always but how can they call this a "Close fitting design retains maximum approach angle" It massive & sticks out the front loads

  14. A very handy tool to have if your into your metal fabrication. More useful than the previous post implies in my opinion. It will save a lot of time & effort on many jobs. Just think of how you would cut the material if you didn't have a plasma, angle grinders & hacksaws can be hard work on 6mm & above. The edge quality is fairly good if you have a steady hand or a guide/template. Yes they can get expensive & need a reasonable sized compressor , but they can save a lot of time. Most will cut 6mm easilly & get a good clean cut. To cut much thicker material the price goes up, but most jobs on a landrover won't need anything more than a basic 40a inverter machine is capable of.
  15. I think the problem would be when/if you want to use your vehicle to comute to a non automotive trade related job. You should be in the motor trade as you main profession I believe. I have a motortrade policy & wouldn't want to be without one. But I do have a few Range Rovers, a van & drive other vehicles.
