Saw this as an unfinished project and wonder HTF can you register a vehicle based on the tub? I thought that the chassis was the determining component?
But I must say, he must work super quick as "it don't need much just putting back together
" oh well another one to be wary of, shame though because it could be a nice truck if done properly!!
What is the value of the parts...? And no, a tub isn't enough to justify a tax exemption, perhaps a q plate!

"Bonnet and wings lift up as one"
Yes, yes they do...

So sorry, where was it taken (roughly)?
Cheers,

When Daisy starts, she vibrates and dips revs. When I accelerate the vibration goes and all is well.
Its worse when cold, but it does happen when warm.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Mike

Hi, welcome to the forum and the wonderful world of landrovers...
You could get a smaller diameter steering wheel... Seat rails might help as it changes the dynamic. Where in the would are you, there might be a local person on here that could let you try them!
Cheers,
Mike

Hi,
Welcome to the forum!
Find your local paint supplier and get their advice, all paints are different, all have different primers, all like different application methods. I wouldn't want to take it back to Aluminium, a factory paint will give by far the best start.
Bat your eyelashes at the supplier, it might help!
I've never used a roller to paint anything, I like compressors and paint guns but that's just me. There was an article in land rover owner recently about rollering on paint, it might be worth a look.
Remove trim/panels to get under it rather than paint up to it.
Cheers,
Mike

Trouble with insurers is that they have to please the underwriters. You need someone with some imagination... NFU are supposed to be good, as are the Co-op. At least you can speak to someone real.
I'm going to try the NFU next month & see how I get on!
Cheers,
Mike

Ha, no, I just think they should change the name of the company!

Now this seems like a great idea, does anyone use these:
I'd love some of these for overlanding...
-
according to the wiring diagram it goes from sender direct to the gauge signal input terminal.
you may find this link useful 300tdi wiring diagrams
Oh, that link goes to britcar, not a wiring diagram...
-
as above goes straight from the sender to the guage, be awae there not always that accurate, some threads on here for retro fit temp sender
I just want to get the thing off the floor... I hate not having the gauge working.
I have no idea what a 300 Tdi running temperature should be, if healthy!

Cheers Ralph, I couldn't find it on the wiring diagram I had...

Does the wire that runs from the temperature sender to the temperature gauge run straight, or does it run through a fuse or connector? I think the wire is blue green.
Thanks,
Mike

Hi,
- The 'H' section seal, the one you fit first, is straight forward enough to fit by feeding in the glass slotting over the ali body word.
So, do you feed the h section over the aluminium first? Then put the glass in?
-
The alpine lights in the roof can be a pig, try and do it somewhere warm and use washing up liquid to lubricate the seals.
Yeah, by the side of the road ;( in the snow...
-
Better than that Steve, I made a tool!
I had some stainless rod about 1.5mm in diameter and bent it round!
-
Hi All,
I'm going to try to replace the rubbers on the alpine window jobbers.
Any advice, tips et al would be gratefully received.
Ta,
Mike

"Driving on forest roads" use in forestry or proper "in the woods up to its axles in mud winching trees etc." use in forestry?
So you're having fun in Scotland then?
-
I'm in a similar situation, I'm going to wait til there it's a show or gathering of defenders and have a good look... I can't work out another way to do it...

Interesting. They are the sort of parts that in todays day and age should be built to last (say compared similar systems used in the marine industry that last for years and are easily servicable).
Is there a marine version that is easily swapped? I've heard of people (on this forum, somewhere) using other clutch master cylinders...
-
I am seriously considering getting a master and slave cylinder sleeved in either brass or stainless steel as apparently they'll last for a very long time,
Any idea where you can get this done?

Mike

SUNROOF FINISHER & how does it fit
in Defender Forum (1983 - 2016)

Okay, so i took the plunge and bought a awr3320 sunroof finisher for 70 quid... Nuts i know but I'm tired of Daisy looking rubbish...
Now, it's a rubber strip that pushes into an aluminium extrusion, has anyone fitted one, cos i've just spent half an hour with my arms above my head and it won't go around the corners!
Would warming it up help?
Any help would be appreciated...
Cheers,
Mike
