  1. I like it, but i did like the simplicity of their previous website. I guess its just evolution.... And yes Craddocks website is a nightmare IMO...
  2. There are a few bolts but mainly lots of rivets that need either grinding or drilling out. There are also half a million spot welds scattered around that need drilling out. I will bolt it all together when i am done to aid removal in the future. You will need to drill the rivets out for the tub brackets from underneath.
  3. Its not very clear but if you look at the seat in the middle of the photo underneath the back rest you can see a small stud with the split pin still attached.
  4. Or you can just buy new, but i didn't want to own Triggers brush!
  5. I have just done mine on my SWB. I removed the floor and then refurbed the brackets. I'll find some pics to show.
  6. On my seat backs they have a stud coming out of them which is placed through the same bracket you have, the stud has a very small hole in the end where a split pin was fitted.

  10. But there is still no rules in the highway code that say "Flashing your lights mean ______________" So should everyone stop flashing their lights?

Does anyone know where i can find the build date?
  12. The original wiring may be damaged now from the all of that heat. It may be wise to inspect or test it to ensure it is still good.

My concern with the wheel nuts was that the studs were not long enough to allow the nuts travel for the full length of their thread. It would seem that is not the case and it is acceptable. But as i need full set of 5 tyres i will pick up some new rims at the same time.

The result of today's cleaning The number plate bracket was blown off by the jet wash so better here than on the A1 i suppose!!

Regarding the wheel nuts i was going to change the wheels simply because i don't like the look of them. Its good to know it was at least safe to drive the way it was. How do i find out the build date of the Landy? The chassis number is 90105474A. I think the "901" refers to the first year of manufacture i belive and the "05474" is the build number as it came of the production line and the "A" is the model revision. Or am i wrong?

Looking through the small of history i got with it was a receipt for a bottom end rebuild and it did say on the report that there was heavy wear. I'm not going to waste any time on that engine as it's scrap. TBH i wasn't p'd off so much but disappointed because i thought i got a right bargain. Afraid not, although it is an "A" suffix and it was first registered in Feb 1973 so it requires road tax. You guys have read my mind, i will be on the look out shortly for a 5 bearing 2.25 petrol engine and i will probably go a LPG kit in the near future. But before the LPG i will need to buy some new wheels and tyres as these Disco rims are not even fitted with longer studs....the thread doesn't even make it to the end of the nut !!!

Well the engine appears to have a hole in the side of the block <img class="bbc_emoticon" alt="" src="http://forums.lr4x4.com/public/style_emoticons/default/blink.gif"> <br><br><br><br>I think that makes it Terminal!<br><br><br>The engine will have to come out for a proper inspection but it looks like replacement is going to be the only option.<br>
  19. RECENT PURCHASE ****Series 3.... Old fashioned Land Rovering!!!

Bought for the sum of £900 with a years mot. The engine blew up on the way home and ended up being towed back by the wifes Freelander!!! Then the front tyre died and i found out that it had no jack or wheel brace and the spare was no good! The Mrs and the kids were up till 3am because of me...Let's just say they are NOT happy. I think some pics are in order.
  21. If it was more competitively priced i would buy for a laugh!!! But then my daughter would steal it from me.....
  22. Or perhaps people are praising me for driving a White Toyota Prius with a big "ACT ON C02" sticker on the bumper?
  23. I canunderstand why HGV or people towing trailers may find it useful to be flashed when they pass each other but.....<BR><BR>Why do people in cars do it on single lane carriageways?
  24. Can someone please tell me why do people flash their lights when you over take them? I don't recall in the Highway Code this being in there. Or am i wrong? It is my ultimate pet hate when on the road. WHY???
