  1. I fitted a discovery rear axle to an old E reg defender i used to have, its a straight swap and the diff ratio's are the same, sometimes in the wet under heavy brakeing the rear end would sometimes lock up and i was told to swap the T piece (appologies if this is the bias valve you mention)in the brake line to one that came off a disc braked vhiecle
  2. i was looking at these at billing this year and they look great and look well designed,a bit further down the line once ive got my other projects out the way i think i'll look into a sett of these
  3. ive heard the super pro are meant to be good bushes but didnt know anyone that had actually used them,i'll give them a try, thanks
  4. im haveing trouble with my trail arm to chassis bushes splitting, ive tried the flo flex orange and the polybush orange bushes and niether have lasted very long, ive got a 2" lift, adrenalin 4x4 double cranked trail arms,+5" terrafirma shocks and x eng spring extenders,i know the obvious route would be to fit rose or johnny joint arms but with a few other projects going at min funds wont allow,i would have thought that with only +5" shocks the polybushes would stand up to this amount of flex, does anyone have any tips that would prelong the life of the bushes or is rose/johnny joint the only way to go? and if so has anyone had any experiance with them on the road(i use my truck about 30% on road 70% off) thanks
  5. that doesnt sound a bad idea, you would be able to adjust the hand brake from inside the cab too as you twist the handle with the handbrake off to adjust on a jcb, just for the record a jcb 2cx,3cx and 4cx all have the same handbrake lever if you do decide to look for one
  6. ive also just got back from billing, apart the weather it was great day with plenty of bargains on offer, problem is i took the missus so for a piecefull life i resisted spending to much
  7. ive never had either brand of shock so dont know which is best(personally though i never buy britpart),but if it was me i'd get them to replace them for what you originally ordered,if there is a warrenty with them and one breaks say a week after fitting i doubt they'll replace it if the reciept states another brand of shock,if you do stick with the britparts id check the price difference too as they may owe you some money.
  8. im really likeing that idea mate, think i'll have a look this weekend & see if i can do something similar, thanks for the pics
  9. ive thought about that mate & also been looking at the 24v power inverters that dave bowyer sells, apperantly the bowmotors will work on 12 or 24v, ideally im wanting to add a second winch and with the tds being a low line thought it'd be ideal for a rear winch
  10. some good info there thanks for the replies fella's,but i think im gonna hang on for an 8274 and buy one of the gwyn lewis winch trays. as i said im planning on fitting the tds to the rear, dont suppose any one got any pics or links for a rear winch settup,or pro's & cons of best place to mount it?(i will try doing a search but im not great with computers lol)thanks
  11. ive just noticed and took advantage of your 10% discount and ordred a set of x-springs from you lol, bought one of your x-brakes a few week back and there definatly worth every penny
  12. thanks for the reply simon,to be honest im quite impressed with the tds,a mate of mine's got a standard 8274 and under load the tds(mines the 173 ratio & fitted 2 batterys) is about the same speed, its just the no-load line speed i was wanting to improve as thats where he benefits everytime as soon as he gets traction,an 8274 is what i was wanting and was then going to fit the tds on the rear, just thought the g12 might have been a cheaper alternative but think i'll hang on for an 8274,thanks again simon
  13. hi all,ive got the chance to buy a goodwinch g12 but wanted to know if anyone had any experience with them, ive curently got a goodwinch tds9.5i goldfish on my truck but wondered what would be the gains of fitting a g12 (if any),i dont compete but do a lot of offroading
