  1. We have the speed limit thing here too, max 80km/h (50mph) with a trailer. I have a trailer, but I'll rather use the pickup bed. Some of these bikes have seen WWII, they don't mind a little dirt.
  2. I've used a 2"x6" before, and with a big (and rather low) truck it was fine. But I can't really fit a four meter plank into my 90...
  3. Hey, those wide wide ones look good, I could ride up: http://www.theramppeople.co.uk/motorcycle-ramps Thank you Simon!
  4. I'm pretty sure I can cram two race bikes side by side onto my 90 truck bed, obviously sticking out a bit. But how do I get them up there? What have you used? Does anyone make inflatable loading docks...
  5. Here's a couple of pics about a nice TGB 13. Build thread: http://forums.offipalsta.com/showthread.php?t=84414 It's for sale too, asking 10K€.
  6. Have someone else rev the car while you lie under it.
  7. Xmod has some for £150: http://www.thexmod.com/item_detail.asp?id=8510
  8. Don't give up on the old chassis yet! I'm sure that can be straightened. It's not like it was that arrow straight when new.. Most of the body can be just kicked into shape, literally. Chicks dig scarred landies.
  9. Perhaps an easier way is to use citric acid. A 5% mixture will get rid of rust in about a day, no need for electricity. Available cheap anywhere where they sell farm supplies. Here's what I know about it: 1. Make a 5% solution into say, a bucket. I just use my eyes for measurement, still works. 2. Use a wire brush or something to get rid of loose rust. 3. Throw parts into solution. No need for gloves, you could even drink it. Bubbles will start to form on rust. 4. The warmer the solution, the faster it works. Room temperature is fine, next to radiator even better. Mixing it up every once in a while also helps. 5. Once it's done, you can see black pitting where rust used to live. Just rinse parts with water, dry and apply primer. The parts will go brown fast if you don't paint or dip in oil or something. Put a lid on your container if you want to reuse the solution, otherwise it will develop mold. Or just flush it down the drain.
  10. Paint it black. Will always look better than any chrome substitute.
  11. How about taking two landies and joining the (perhaps shortened) frames? Hinge them, like the Sisu Nasu below. In fact, you'd be better and cheaper off just buying one.
  12. A lot of them have been imported to Finland. Here's one they claim is a good one, with 25 000 km on the clock: http://kauppa.savenmaa.fi/PublishedService?file=page&pageID=9&itemcode=volvo+tgb+6x6 Here's a tgb search for Sweden's equivalent of craigslist. The prices are in kronor, drop a zero and you are close to pounds: http://www.blocket.se/stockholm?q=volvo+tgb&cg=1020&w=3&st=s&ps=&pe=&mys=&mye=&ms=&me=&cxpf=&cxpt=&gb=&fu=&cxdw=&ca=11&l=0&md=th
