    I've opened 6 engines and 3 had a cracked piston, all NA engines, but they keep running.

    Found pieces from the piston in the sump. Piston 3 is broken.

    I can see that the hotspot has moved, there are signs at the underside of the hotspot and the head. I have only 500Km driven with the knocking noise so new hotspots and gasket will do the job, i hope.

    Hello, i hear a knocking sound, coming from a 2.5 diesel engine. It sounds like a bad conrod. I took off the head and it looks that i have a lose hotspot. could that be the knocking sound?

    I don't think it's the gasket but the head.

    If the cylinder head gasket is leaking, you should see this. I do not think the seal is the cause for this engine. These are pictures of two different engines with a blown gasket.

    Engine out and in (NA diesel) 5 hours to change the crankshaft rear oil seal. I am not a fast worker. You only need a crane ( we call it a giraffe)

    Yes, the timingbelt tensioner bolt fits a different place.

    A lot of investigation, i can see that the timing pulleys are different. I shall look for a better solution but i don't want a electric fan. It is a lhd.

    The joint is the same. part number 538039.

    Hello, This is maybe a strange question. Is it possible to use the NA/TD timing chest on disco 200TDI so i can keep the original visco fan in my Oneten?

    Why don't you change it?

    Because the TD has a very bad reputation, The Na fits the series. I have TD for sale and there no interest.

    Did anybody tried to cut off the traction control in the defender L316 07 or is reprogramming the only option.
