  1. Well, what a good fun event. a very friendly bunch and very well run and put together (as BAMA events always have been) It was good to get back to the grass roots of off roading, nothing too demanding on a terrain perspective but plenty of grey matter needed for the map reading as to be expected. (having said that we did get stuck though when we came off route!) was an early start for us to get up there (0300hrs) and a late run back but well worth it. A big thank you to Ross for making us aware that is was on, please pass on our thanks to the organisers. Next one is 29 Jan i believe - Bramley Heath near Basingstoke - Ex Rickshaw Ramble
  2. well we are all entered and ready to go, even found my old BAMA kit from '98, hope nothing has changed. Compass Rose was alot of fun when i last did it!
  3. cheers Ralph. Anyone know if there is a cold weather one? ie one that opens when its hotter?
  4. am after the MPN for a Puma (11MY) thermostat and knowing what it opens at ideally? i believe its the same part for the td5 too. Is there a range of thermostats with different opening temps for td5?
  5. i've not broken my Ashcroft axles with 35" Fedimas, and they fit a std axle casing.
  6. fuel starvation would be my first line of investigation. 19J filter and housing wont be a problem.
  7. my experience is the opposite, my disco 200 regularly did more mpg than my gen 200tdi aboiut 10% more on a like for like trip all things considered.
  8. bear in mind that there were some mods out for rerouting PAS pipes with 300tdis to stop the moans. maybe a simple reroute/more cable ties would work with the td5 ones too?
  9. my 90 - 88 reg with a disco 200tdi (200k on it) does 28/29mpg - hardtop no rack sat at about 65mph on the motorway (265/75 ATs) if i had a rack i would expect to loose 10% which is 25mpg.......................

  17. as he says, its only 3 wires to sort. the thickest brown one goes to the large stud on the 300 alt. you could always just use the 19J alt and change the pulley over.
