i like the pdf idea, at least then it really would be "reassembly is a reversal of removal"
maybe compile them as pdf's and then put them onto cd for a minimal charge to cover costs? rather than using up space by hosting them, and that way it will be easier for those "in the field" who may not have internet access when they need it most, and can just pop the cd in (or copy the relevant ones to hard drive)
maybe do a couple of versions, defender, disco, series and range rover specific ones....or just and all in one for those of us who like to have everything to hand...

£25 for 5w40!!!! blimey, we charge £19.20 for 5 litres.....and that's the Unipart branded stuff which is supplied by Fuchs.
nothing wrong with carlube, i have got 80/90 in my transfer box, i use fuchs in the engine and the diffs though....
in this day and age, all oils should meet the minimum standard required for it's spec, the price reflects the quality of the additives used

parts lookup program used by dealers to find part numbers. you input your chassis number (or reg) and it lists the parts for that particular model. the reg on the photo didn't work, so i used the lookup we have @ work, which gave the chassis number, and then the microcat came up trumps with the original reg number

looks nice, according to microcat, it was registered with a private plate, which now resides on a 2009 tdv8 rr vogue se - nice to see the original owner has stuck with the brand
i would say from the rrr, it will have the air suspension on it, and i suspect that it may well have been looked after by it's previous owners
-
wasn't the vogue se top of the pile in '93?

i fitted a fuel computer to my old xr4x4, and that had a normal throttle cable. iirc it took a signal from the speed sensor, and also from the ecu to calculate the mpg - and it was accurate to within about 2mpg

got cooper discoverer st's on mine, good road manners and seem to be wearing well too. cheaper then bfg's but similar tread pattern. they were fantastic in the snow this year, and haven't let me down on slippery fields yet
-
but am hoping if I use silicone mountings for the hard drive then I should be OK
...or you could get a solid state drive - no moving parts and faster access times, the downside is that they are still fairly pricey.
-
they could even do the x-web for securing loads......
-
the easiest way to run the wires is through the vent above the radio, down the back of the dash then out through the grommet that the throttle cabls passes through.

this thread is getting better all the time!!!
come one x-eng - where's the x-leg for improved wall climbing abilities.....

can't recommend allisport ones enough, just fitted one to my 300, and it will now out accelerate and xr2i between 50 and 70 - in 5th!!
i have heard of saab ones being used, as the pipework is on the same side as the landrover ones. trip to the scrappy with a tape measure usually pays dividends.

sounds like the lift pump to me, especially with the loss of power above 2800rpm, it can't keep up.
-
Somehow a replacement (possibly next generation) takes over the sunvisor position and all is well again.
I would say they are more of a supercession than a next generation LRS, as each one is slightly different to it's predecessor.
-
try replacing the leak off pipe that runs between the injectors, these perish over time letting air in. you can usually see if one of these is causing a problem as it will be damp where the diesel has soaked in. should be a couple of quid from a factors for a metre length
-
the other option is to send it off to A R Turbos for a recon, IIRC they quoted me £150 ish for a rebuild of a turbo with dodgy seals
-
sounds like it could possibly be valve stem seals. as it's sat over night oil is weeping past them, and into the bores, where it's burnt the next morning.
does it do it if you leave it idling for a few minutes, then pull away? if so it could be the turbo seals on their way out.

£50 is a lot for 200 miles. mine uses about £35 to do the same distance.
The intercooler and pipes with oil in can be normal, as long as it's a fine coating, anything thicker than that could mean trouble.
it's possible your EGR valve is stuck, or even the cyclone breather on the side of the head is knackered, causing the smoking.
what conditions does the blue smoke appear under?

nice one, looks to me like the white one reversed up behind and pushed the pink one over the edge just for the hell of it

airbag removal instructions are in Rave i think, grab that from the tech archive and it will help immensely
-
the speedo sender on those is electrical, and iirc there are three wires, one +12v, one signal and an earth.
