Hello one and all, I'm just starting to plan my projects for the weekend after next (front bumper this weekend!). Has anyone got any inof regarding what size box section and what length i would need to replace my sills? I'll be looking at putting in jacking points and possibly tree sliders in time. When i do the front bumper and the sills I'll try to take as many photo's as possible and note the sizes and where I make cuts, along with a price list and time summary, so any help would be greatly appreciated! Hello there, just to say ... any update? This looks like a reallly interesting project, where rust finally eats my rear door and roof corners this is what I'd like to build

I went the B&Q way and would definitly recomend doing your own, I really got a sense of achiement out of doing it, oh and it works, can't say the same about my door seals though!

Mate that is superb, how did you go about shaping the front bumper? It looks like it followed the curve of the front panel, and secondly what size steel did you use for it? Thanks in adance that really helped! Andi K

Excellent, thanks everyone, has any else done one? Any pictures would be greatly appreciated, I will be starting to look properly at this after next weekend, I've just discovered how bad my floor is (well I say floor, the sound proofing was all that was holding the carpet up !) So as soon as that's cleared up I'll be starting, so what would be the thinking for this? Shall I go box section in the middle, then taper down to the corners and then fold arounf the sides? What is the best thickness to go for? Sorry for being a bit of a thicky twin, I' new , I know I can't use that excuse for ever but I'll milk it while I can! Thanks everyone Andi K

Hello one and all, After an eventful weekend of denting the front of my car I thought I'd look at the possibilities of upgrading my bumpers. Has anyone made their own heavy duty front and rear bumpers? And do you have any pics or dimensions, any help would be gratly appreciated! Well I'll start off by saying hello one and all. My name is Andi and I'm a first time Land rover owner. Done sooo many different types of jobs in the past and had a great time, now a retired stuntman after my local theme park shut doan and I don't want to travel great distances for jobs anymore. Right that over (feeling a bit like an AA meeting there!) I've come over from the mud club forum as it looks like I can get some usefull tech info here. I need to sort my Boot floor and inner wings along with probably my front passenger floor What I'm really interested in is making my own front and rear bumpers along with tree and rock sliders, can anyone help with any info or guides on how to do it? What thickness plate etc? Thanks in advance and hopefully I can make some meaningfull contributions one day Andi K
