  1. I could be completely wrong about the coil spring thing, I was told the other day that only the 7 seaters had air as standard, 5 seaters coils. Could be nonsense. So the 'pipes ferrules and ride height linkage' could all be in reference to the air suspension which has been removed, so apart from appearing as a regular advisory shouldn't cause issues with future mot's? I'll be sure to have a good poke around at her rear end then. I don't want to be buying something that's going to need a lot of attention to the undercarriage. O.o
  2. I'm going to look at a 99 td5 auto discovery tomorrow. 5 seater on springs, 138,000 miles. Looking at the past mot's on the gov website there are a couple of advisory items I don't really understand: 'pipes to rear A suspension furreles corroded' What are these ferrules and pipes? This has been an advisory for a couple of years. 'nearside rear ride height linkage broken system removed' Something to do with self leveling on an air spring system? I though 5 seaters had coils as stock? Also an advisory on slight corrosion underneath. Are the d2 chassis trouble spots much the same as d1s and defenders, ie rear x member, outriggers and suspension mounts? Anything else to look out for? Yes, the sunroofs leak.
  3. Thanks for this. Does this mean that by putting a 10p head on a 15p you are getting fuel delivered at a different pressure? Will this cause issues with how the engine runs? Was your problem you had the wrong head on your block? What was the result?
  4. That's what I'm looking into now. Of course, when you have the 15p part sat on the bench you want to make sure you're barking up the right tree before splashing out again. I'm trying to find someone with the world's best 'spares shed' who fancies a straight swap.
  5. Yeah, but mine has a 15p number and no external pipe, so is it a 15p with a 10p head? Does that even work?
  6. You may have seen my other thread, if not you may still know the answer. Is it possible that somebody fitted a 10p head to a 15p engine in my truck? I have a 15p engine number on the sticker on the rocker cover, though that proves nothing. There is a fuel cooler (15p only?) But a 2 pipe fpr. Short of taking off the rover cover and checking the colour of the injectors, what else can clue me in on what I have in there? Also....The truck seems to run ok allowing for the leaky fpr- would that be the case of a 10p head was fitted to a 15p block? Soooo confused....
  7. There doesn't seem to be anywhere to plug this return pipe in. Somehow I've got either the wrong fpr, head or both! Aaaarrgghh!
  8. Found this image elsewhere, seems to show a gold nut removing the return pipe and nut where the dodgy looking bolt is on my engine. Edit: Ok, so that bolt is holding the manifold on! Amazing what a bit of light can reveal!
  9. Is this where the fuel return should enter the head? Where that pointless looking bolt thing is, or am I just clutching at straws?!?
  10. I was just about to fit my FPR, BUT there seems to an extra pipe (or one missing from the old one). I understand it's the fuel return on a 15p which was internal on the 10p. The truck is an 02, I was careful to order the correct part using the chassis number and came up with the 15p version. Could there be an older head fitted to the truck? Where should this return pipe go, behind the egr somewhere? HELP!!!!!
  11. Could I get people's opinions on what this might be worth? I'm considering sone sort of swap/trade with my 02 110. Recon 2.5 NA, recon box, galv bulkhead and supposedly solid chassis. Thoughts?
  12. I can find plenty of information on uk and irish law regarding camper van, but I'm guessing it's a very different story as there is no requirement for any seat belts in the rear on a pre 2007 vehicle. Fitted belts must be worn however. Different kettle of fish I think.
  13. Sounds like a conspiracy! Get a tin foil headlining!
  14. That thought had crossed my mind, but then I couldn't remember if I'd seen td5 csws with sideways bench seats in the rear. Also I had it in my head the sideways seats were always 'belt exempt '.
  15. Just looked on ebay- those winches cost a fortune!!!
  16. Just looked on ebay- those winches cost a fortune!!!
  17. Tis true. A slightly more realistic 190 thousand odd.
  18. http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=161793135156&globalID=EBAY-GB&alt=web Just saw this on ebay and even though mine is now irish registeted, i immediately knew it was from the same fleet as mine, which I found strangely thrilling! Sad eh? I just dug out the old Land Rover extended warranty card which I knew had the UK Reg number on it- just one letter different from the eBay truck! More unusual thrills! This got me to thinking that originally mine must have had the 4 seat configuration and lo and behold, the holes to mount the bench are present. My log book states the truck has only 2 seats, making it no good to me as my daily runaround, but I'm wondering now as it had more seats originally i could claim 'grandfather rights' and reinstall them without having to get engineers reports etc (adding rear seats to vans in Ireland is a nono, you have to re register as a Crew cab and would need side doors and a bulkhead etc) So, after much rambling I'm not really sure what I'm getting at here... Does anybody else own an ex Northern Gas and Electric 110? What was that box in the back with the flammable sticker for? I have exhaust vents in mine so it must have had the box too. Also, is the eBay truck really worth as much as 6 grand? No mot on it since Jan according to the database.
  19. So simple it has to work! I'm going to make one of these, and then if that fails order a master cylinder.
  20. It does sound like we have similar problems. I couldn't believe the amount of air flowing up the pipe from the bleeder. I'll have another mess about with it today to see if sitting nose up has achieved anything.
  21. No abs here. At least there's no warning light on the dash. If I had abs, I guarantee the light would be on!!!
  22. Dang. I thought they looked the same. I know not of this balance valve thingy of which you speak. Looks like I've got more reading to do!
  23. Am I right in thinking a 300tdi disco master cylinder will fit a td5 110?
