  1. Get some heated ones from a car and stick them on the bonnet. Paul
  2. Should be ok now, they were still uploading. All the snow is 800' above sea level, not a lot below it. Paul
  3. Well been out again http://s767.photobucket.com/albums/xx312/m6pih/31-12-09%20north%20wales/ Paul
  4. I do not run it, but do a lot of helping out/ MarkS was the one in the 110, he was at the Norst Wales meetings. But lots of untouched snow and a lot more for tomorrow as we could not get to it Paul
  5. We were out aswell pictures here http://s767.photobucket.com/albums/xx312/m6pih/30-12-09%20north%20wales/ We also spent 2 hours up on the Horse Shoe pass pulling cars out!! Paul
  6. Should have quoted this bit All things being equal, repairs on the Wayfarer will be effected on Wednesday 23rd. These will be of a relatively temporary nature to get it back into use before Christmas - any permanent repairs required will be done in the New Year. Should be open for use from Thursday onwards. Pray that they have decent weather for the work!
  7. Well I carry BIG vans for the AA and others. Right up to the BIG Iveco ones that Parcel force have. The new one they are building at work will have a 8 foot wide bed and about 25 foot bed. The Ivecos over the rear of mine by about 3 foot!!
  8. Have a look on 4x4web as there is a Unimog 404 camper on there
  9. FMG (Fleet Mantance Group) is what you need. We do a lot of vans for them (I am a recovery lorry driver. Sorry I do not have contact details. Paul Edit to add, found info www.fmgsupport.co.uk
  10. But mine does not lean to the drivers side
  11. Well Ross, if you did not say it I am sure someone would
  12. Well looks like it was down to "power" I have just retested it. Had no time till now as I was working!! Anyway, with the main battery it would just move a 110 with the brakes on. When linked with the 3rd battery it pulled it fine, this was with the top layer on the drum. It would move it along dryish concrate ok. So it proves one other thing, my LC is heaver that a 110 as his moved and mine did not. So it all comes down to I was "well stuck" . So time to get a new main battery Thanks for all the help. I think I might change the winch anyway for a bigger one. Paul
  13. They even fit a Toyota Land Cruiser Paul
  14. I will have a look at work tomorrow for you, but they are swaping all the ones on out recovery trucks to LEDs but I am sure they are Premier Hazard with stop, tail, ally and turn lights built in. Paul
  15. Will let you know Garry. At least it will save posting. Lol. Not yet James, was going to test it today. But got called in to work and I am still at work! I hope to give it a go tomorrow. Paul
  16. Well stripped the winch down and everything looks fine. No water or dirt inside it. Life in the brake and grease in the gear box. All contacts are fine. Motor is still like new. So time to refit and try it again. Will try it with jump leads to the 3rd battery. To see if it is any better, if it is then I will invest in a new battery. If not then it is a new winch!! Paul
  17. The drainage will be sorted on the lower section when they do the repair. Nice to meet you BTW Les. Paul
  18. It has gotten worse since then. I looked at it last thursday and it is very soft. I worked out it needs "fixing" for about 80 meters. Paul
  19. The road known to many at “the Wayfarer” North Wales has a Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) placed on it and is closed from 16-11-09 until further notice. This covers from SJ 12965 35532 to SJ 09185 36582. The reason for the TRO is due to water erosion and to allow for the Highways Dept to carry out the repair work. The TRO will last till the repairs are done. I will post back as soon as I know they have been done. Could Admin/Mods please make this a sticky.
  20. I can not do a lot at home as no trees!! Also today it is my wifes birthday. But I have tried it under no load and on all connections it only drops by about .6 of a volt. I know I need to try this under load. But I can not try it till next week. Chargeing voltage is 14.4V at 1600rpms. Everything is tight. I can turn the drum by hand when in free spool mode. Paul Edit to add, it is an ISKRA 12 4.2hp motor.
  21. Mine does about 20-22 mpg the way I drive it
  22. The 80 series has the 4.2 turbo diesel or 4.5 petrol engine. The smaller 90 series had the 3.0l Turbo Diesel. As for what to look for, get a 1993-94 4.2td auto as you get electic everything and full leather. Make sure the axle lockers work, cost lots to fix!!. Other than that just the normal stuff you look for in any car. There are some nice ones on ebay right now. Don't worry about mileage as they are good for lots!! Paul
  23. Of course you can if you look hard enough!! I got mine for £2200 almost 2 years ago and it came with a FSH!! Lots around for £4. Paul
