Dishwashers cleans cylinder heads well

I have soom half decent expeirence in off roading and have done only a few minor local challenges. I am very willing to learn at the same time. However, I am only 16 and I don't no what the rules say about age?
-
I have a karcher steam cleaner and a sealey pressure washer. Both great but don't buy one just because it has the most pressure, the sealey at 150psi will take all the paint off

There is also a reasonable size food in my village Thurlow. You drive across a very large opening of the river stour. There is a Measuring pole in the centre, usually at around 2ft, but it starts to get exiting at 3ft and then scary at 3.5ft-4ft as at that height the river will have a huge current. A freind drove through at 3.5ft in his 110 tomb raider and the current started to push the back end out

Are you not thinking of Furneux Pelham perhaps?? Thats the BIG one most people talk about down south! Not necessarilly the DEEPEST, but the LONGEST ford in the UK.
If you check out Wetroads.....any of the 5 star fords will do the trick.
If you ever decide to do the one in Clapham......give me a shout, as its only half a mile from me.

I have been through that ford, and yes it is very long but also deceptive
We walked down some of it and thought that it wasn't too bad, well we was walking! However, we couldn't have been more wrong. I was in a standard height 110 td5 and the water was coming through the floor! We managed to stop on one shallow point to let the water out
and check the v8 rangie behind us! The water level was just under the front door handle. And the v8 had stopped running when it got onto the shallow point! We then had to tow the rangie through the rest, we was around half way and this point. And it did get a little deeper still. It was coming over the bonnet and up the windsceen (towing!) and that was with hardly a bow wave. We made it and so did the disco infront that just plodded through no probs, although he wasn't towing!
But anyone who gets the chance, go for it, you'll enjoy it
ps; snorkels are recommended

I have an orange bobtail, and like you have done quite a good job hitting it into just about everything

Hmmmmm.............. I have the 11.5" travel rough country's and they are classed as +5.5" over standard, so that means standard one's should be around 6", but I do know that de-carbon +2" are 9" travel, so who knows???

Couldn't agree more with you there. As you say, all you get is the sound of a very lumpy and unbalanced sound as you are only hearing half of the cylinders. A full system will always give that unique v8 burble and crisp bark
-
Speaking of beadlocks, I have just got mine back from being welded up
All I need to do now is paint them! Anthracite and orange

I have the rough country long travel dampers with the gwyn lewis kit, and deffinatly buy it, although the dampers are very soft, especially with my scrapion springs which have gone very soft. Although it seems to be a very caple set up running it as soft as it is.

or how about an SD1 with a merlin lump?
Funny you should say that, I have seen one!!!!!!!!

The best induction roar will be heard from 4 weber 45's. Get some downdraft carbs on a v8 and it will suck loads, and drink alot more fuel! One of the best silencers that I have heard was on an ac cobra. That had some kind of metal plates inside the body of the silencer to refract the noise, therefore silencing it, but does not restrict it so the engine can breath better, and giving greater horsepower. Obviously, if any exhaust system is changed from the stock one the carbs will need re-jetting to suit and a fuel injection system re-mapping, otherwise like said above the engine will infact produce less power. The same rule also aplies for air filter upgrades if you are looking to get the best performace from it. Also to note there is a given optimum exhaust diameter for each engine, exceed that and the engine won't perform very well!

Our TD5 auto disco does around 22mpg and down to 18.5mpg when towing! Not sure that all the fuel from the tank is actually getting to the engine!!!

I don't see why you'd think they'd be hopeless, frogs island spent a lot of time and effort developing them as a viable alternative to ome's.
The springs supplied by frogs seemed to be a lot more supple giving a lot more travel with the same ride hieght and quality as the ome's they replaced.
I didn't think that they were hopeless, I just asked. So it sounds like a good alternative spring to the likes of ome which are much more expensive. As we are working within a fair budget, the terrafirma springs seem to be ideal so I think frog island may have another customer
-
I'd say not as the terrafirma shocks have a much bigger body than ome's, and the springs i've tried were softer than the ome's that simon sells
Ok, we seem to like the soft suspension, so are they soft in a good way or just hopeless???
-
Now, I am not sure if this is correct, however I have heard that the terrafirma suspension kit is old man emu in different colours and with a new sticker on it? But the Terrafirma kit is much much cheaper so how can this be? Surely incorrect? However, my dad is looking for some +2" springs to suit a gwyn lewis kit with the rough country dampers, and was wondering if the terrafirma springs are any good?

I just broke the forum rules on advertising hint hint and that will allow larger tyres upto 33" diameter or smaller tyres and then they won't foul on any body parts.
Sorry about that, I am only young!!!

SBC, BBC, SBB, & BBB ............ all lovely engines, but with a weight penalty..............
The chevy engines all weigh loads more, they are all cast iron blocks and heads (although some maybe alloy heads) The rover v8 is all alli so it all seems to go rather well with a 90 as that is also fairly light. However, I supose that it wouldn't be much different in wieght to a 200 or 300tdi maybe weighing in at a little more. I have seen an ibex with 450bhp rover v8 and that only requied the very slightest touch on the throttle to get all four wheels spinning. So it may weel be that you have all the bhp but if the chassis can't take it or isn't designed for it, then you won't gain full potential of whats actually getting to the ground. i.e you might as well have a mildly tuned rover v8 so the power that it has got is being used fully and put to the ground. But don't let that put you off as that is only my opinion. Although, if all of that power was transfered to the ground your landy would fly! I have been in an ac cobra with a 350 chevy and 350bhp at the flywheel and that whipped along fairly well

Cool, looking good there,
I will be ordering mine soon, but now might be having second plans on what car they are going to being going on?

Sorry being thick here, but why is it a problem to use plasma on a comeup?
-
On paper the comeup ds9.5 is very good. Basicly, the spec is almost identical to the warn 9.5ti which is double the price and in terms of performance, it beats the ep9. I have a comeup dv9000i and performs very well, as good as the ep9. The ds9.5 is around £399 and its pulling speed and power is very impressive. This would be my personal choice

I have some 7x16 modulars and next thursday they are going away to have external beadlocks on as well. This increases the rim width from 7" to 8.5" or there abouts. I will be running 35/12.5r16 maxxis cc. What tyres are you planning on running, some tyres are generous in their sizes and others aren't. A 10" rim with a beadlock is very wide ~11.5".
Devon4x4 do the 10" wide modular for about £45. My rims were just £34 as they are much narrower, but with the beadlocks they work out as the right size.
