  1. I did run mine with out a spare but I now have one on and have never needed it but the fact I don't carry a jack sort of defeats the point anyway I guess haha should really pick a bottle jack up
  2. Hi all Just wondering more than anything at this stage but I've currently got a 200tdi 1984 90 that one day I'm hoping to convert to a v8? What engine is best? 3.5 3.9 And have seen one or two with the 4.0 along with the 50th editions Also what are the complications and where can you get hold of kits if there are any or is it all custom fabrication?
  3. No not the pedal can see the cable sticking! It's a 1984 90 with a 200tdi defender engine fitted
  4. Was the inner wheel bearing didn't help that pads where nearly to metal! All sorted now tho
  5. This has happened twice now in a year only had that car a year but surly this should be happening so frequently is this just bad luck both cables were brand new on
  6. A mate is claiming it the axle seal as if seems to be oil from the diff? Could this be the case

  10. Okay so my 90 200tdi was pulling to the right while I was driving quite sharply I thought it was the wheel bearings so bought a full kit and left it with my uncle who is a mechanic... Upon inspecting he said the bearings were fine but my pads were metal on metal so he changed both fronts and I thought the problem was fixed but then driving it the problem began again noises from the from drivers side like before and pulling to the right? What could this be? My uncle seems to think the bearings are fine should I push him to change them anyway or could this be brake related? Any help would be much appreciated! Cheers
  11. Was 2 bolts on each corner! Tricky to get out but manages with a bit of force and planning to put a water bowser / tanker on the back for 1000 litres will keep updating
  12. Driving to work today got to round about before this was a burning smell and I am aware my bearings need changing just waiting for box spanner in post could this be the burning smell? I also lost braking partially! HELP!!

  15. I have yes only twice but as it knackered so much I've cut that out from now on! Handbrake went and everything! I've only ordered the one front bearing would you recommend doing both?
  16. Cheers mate I'm on the Wirral near liverpool Ordered some from eBay using the part number given above luckily I won't need the car much in the next week fallen quite lucky Will have a look for the thread in the tech archive an will post if I get stuck! Cheers

  18. Found this when taking off the wheel and drive shaft the wheel bearing looks to have collapsed anyone know the part number or where I can get one today at this time
  19. Not to sure about the brakes I just corrected the steering and continued on and it sorted itself out but kept on squeaking and rubbing! Will take it home now and have a look! Any other possibilities?
  20. Is there any way to tell without a jack I'm out at the moment I think the drive shaft came away from the wheel but it intermittently goes in and out
  21. Like a squeaking metal on metal sound coming from front wheel Sometimes If I let off the accelerator the car wonders right because I'm assuming the wheel has stopped turning the same speed as the other side! What could this be we can't see my visible faults
  22. Hi all my back passenger side wheel is caked in grease or oil or something? What's up with it? What need replacing or repair? Cheers
  23. Yes was the grub screw! Fixed it in less than 20 mins! Now to enjoy my lunch! Cheers everyone for the help!! Tom
