  1. Entry just gone in the post And hope to have front and rear ARB's which should get me into even more trouble quite nicely!
  2. Yet another cracking event. A really big thank you to everyone involved in the setting up and running these events, we had a great time, despite, blowing a tyre, starter motor failing on the special stage (losing about 400 points) and the oil light coming on near the end of the day. Madly we will be back next year
  3. Well I’m definitely on a budget, might have two winches (one to get into trouble and one to get out) but only one battery, no locking diffs and still got most of the body work, although most panels are no longer straight! Only got a 2” lift but still having great fun and some reasonable results considering the limitations of the vehicle. Now have a broken cambelt, that wasn’t in the budget
  4. Luckily I have the facilities to wash mine down at a works premises also with a very high pressure cleaner. It did take 3 hours through and a spade to clean up the worse. However the cambelt broke on the way home, gutted. Can’t decide if I’m pleased that I finished the event and then it broke or just annoyed that it has broken.
  5. Imagine the size of the truck to use a ground anchor that big
  6. Nealy finished, just got to fit new winch rope and fill up the fuel tank after it sprang a leak having been bashed by a rock on last event. At this rate I'll have time to clean the inside!! (Although I don't know why I'm bothering knowing how much mud is at Tong!)
  7. Having been one of the many crews who appeared to have rolled at the weekend (but no photo's) I did a full 360 and landed on my wheels after the front cable snapped. Now the roll cage did its job very well and we got away with virtually no panel damage. However I was unlucky in that the centre consult came away from it's mountings and gave me a good wack in the side of the head, cutting my head open. Fortunately it’s only a flesh wound and I’ll live, but it could have been a lot worse. I will certainly be reviewing what goes into the cab for the next event. So yes I do think we should wear helmets (I wear one for my motorbike and other forms of motorsport) Fingers/arms and legs are a bit easier to fix than heads (OK I know most drivers have got there brains in their right foot!!) However I would ask if that is going to be the case could we have some sort of agreement early on as to what type/kite mark is going to be acceptable for all events to save having to buy different helmets to different standards for different events
  8. Great event, some really tough bits that made us work hard. Thanks to all the marshalls out there who did an excellent job setting it and tiding up after we had finished. I've still got a head ache after my full rollover if anyone has any photo's?
  9. Speak for yourself, my last visit lasted one punch and 15 minutes
  10. Don't know how you did it, but all the best Glynn I thought this sport was suppose to be dangerous, not work as well
  11. Neil, thanks to you and all your crew for another great event, even the weather cheered up (a bit!) There were some tough punches out there. Thanks for the break down of the cyber punches, all I need now is a map of where they were cos in the heat of battle I forgot to mark them on my muddy bit of paper, I mean map! Photo's look good, nice to see people working hard for their points.
  12. Thanks to Neil and all his crew, great event and even got the weather right. Guess i didn't need to train the winch monkey too much after all
  13. I'm ready, all I have left to do is train the new winch monkey for this event
  14. Sorry Neil, same old problem, shift work and 6 hour drive back home, two are not compatible
  15. There are some people who can't keep a vehicle running for 15 minutes! How do you expect them to winch for 15 minutes non stop?
  16. Boothy, prehaps we should put you on the sledge!!
  17. Oh and we broke the tow vehicle auto box, doh
  18. Very tough for us. Co driver is knacked! Broken screen, bent (strengthen) drag link, bent steering guard, broken wing mirrows (again) Big thank youto everyone who helped set out, we didn't get to see too much of of what you had done, but i bet yor legs ached after doing that all day. Best start getting ready for next one then
  19. everything is ready, even packet the snow chains
  20. The way I drive everything is a challenge
  21. I could be interested in the Suffolk event as well. To drive to, do event and get home all in day would make a welcome change
  22. But I thought drivers only had their brains in their right foot
