  2. As KKmobile sais, Most land rover axles are all interchangeable. was a straight swap but i have have castor corrected duty radius arms so juct changed them at the same time. Many thanks, looking at fitting heavyduty half shafts so just wanted to know. James
  3. Hi, Just a quick one, Does anyone know if this the metric 10 spline or imperial? its a 1991 range rover axle. Many thanks James
  4. Hi, Currently fitting a 300tdi to my defender and it currently has an old viscous unit on it,it is all working however i did have a x-eng switch with the isuzu engine, Due to the intercooler now being used, i didn't have it plumbed in for the isuzu, i can fit the old two small kenlowe's i had. What fans fit with the ccouling still in place so you can still get the draw through the intercooler? Is there any that fit in well. If any one has any pics of their fans fitted much appreciated. Or would it be ok to just stay with the viscous unit. Vehicle is being build for future challenging and winch events so a fan which i can turn off does sound more appealing. many thanks James
  5. Exactly what my thoughts were but just thought i would see if anyone had one to made sure. Came with the bracets also which i thought was good and saw one one another hybrid someone build so thought it may be worth a go. Shall just do what you all say then. Many thanks James

  7. after seeing this ordered mine last week. Total cost for me was £35 plus £10 for the belt, he sells a £10 belt and a £7 one. Looks a superbly made product. Very pleased with. James
  8. Spoke with Gwyn Lewis that you need to earth the second alternator to the engine and 35mm2 cable is ok for this. Ordered mine this morning James

  11. Hi, I took my clutch pipe of the master cylinder last week to move some wires behind it and when i put it back on and bled it all up. I am now getting a horrible grinding sound when i press the clutch down sometimes, Mostly when stationarry but you can here it very occassionally when changing gear on the move. Can't figure it out, have bled the system a few times now and no different, had never happened before i undid the pipe but that is all i did and had it off for about 1 minute!!! Sounds like the clutch is slipping or grinding in the bell housing but not to sure. Have SVA booked in now as well for end of month so was not really hopeing for these lovely eventuallities!!! Any help much appreciated, Any one know what it could possibly be and a solution or is it going to have to be a split the gearbox and engine job. Clutch is made up off all new parts enxept pedal assembly. Many thanks James
  12. Try Jim as well at gigglipin, Spoke with him at the indoor 4x4 show and have a feeling he said he had just got an order in before the price went up to the £280 so may be worth trying to see what he can do. if it wasn't the xp it was the Bowmoter he had placed a big order with so give him a bell!!! If not i would say devon, they have been the best for everything elso i have looked around for including custom made props!! james
  13. i placed a wheely bin on a roof and walked all over it with a mate, well, it was a mates 300tdi whilst we rapped it in silage rap and it was all fine, no issues, there was nearly one when a friend nearly stood ont he sun roof but bar that is all good. James
  14. Hi, Ordering a custom made prop for my hybrid this week and was wondering what experiences people have had with them Have prices for Gwyn Lewis and Devon 4x4 and both seem very good, Gwyn one is a GKN one. Was wondering if there are any other companies i should look out for, there was a prop shaft company at the indoor 4x4 show but they were twice the price as both my other quotes. Many thanks James
  15. Hi Will, whats the info you mention, the size of the load bed? Downloaded the forms today, hoping to get a test in April for mine if they arn't busy with last minute sva entries so shall start filling in the paper work soon. James
  16. Hi all, just off the phone to VOSA and today is the last day to apply for the current SVA as a passenger vehicle before it changes to the IVA. For Commercial vehicles then the deadline is later, the lady couldn't remember but i believe its another year or so. Commercial has to have two seats and a load bay. all the best James
  17. Iv got a mate who has just fitted some rose joints like these usng an agricultural top ling from a 3 point linkage, he has kept the rubber bush though, look good bar he hasn't upgraded the radius arms so i think he is now going to do that, be interesting to see how they work, its on a range rover bob which isn't being build for much road work at all however, just off road. James
  18. looking at the exhibitor lists, Billing for me, is the overall show of the year i think, even if it does have problems, if you asked everyone to name any land rover show, i think Billing would prob come up the most. James
  19. cheers for the reply, i did think this but didn't want to go and have a discussion about it with out actually knowing it!!! did a quick look on there website but couldn't see it either. Il pass the info on and hopefully have another D3 sale!!! all the best James
  20. il be there, filling my audi of people as well hopefully for a good day out. James
  21. hi, friend of mine is looking at buying a D3 however they want enough room as a jumbo jet for storage and they have had a look at one and said you can't buy them in a 5 seater with the rear seats removed and cubby boxes fitted like in the 200tdi and 300 tdi used to have, it has got to the stage now that they are actually about to buy a nissan xtrail so you can see why i was confused, i was speachless!!!! just seems a silly thing that land rover have done if you can't remove them James
  22. The man in the passenger seat doesn't look to impressed though!!!! Nice pics James
  23. If your putting down stone chip then i would highly recomend putting down a weed layer like Teram, there is a another product called fibro something which if i remember correctly is the cheaper alternative to teram, is superb and well save all your weed problems, If however your putting type 1 plannings down then these shall prob go down tight enough to stop the weeds, espeically if you mis a little diesel up and put it on top with a brush or nap sac as it sothens up the plannings and makes then stick a little better you didn't here that here though!!!! The options are rediculious when it comes to this, just depends on how much you want to spend on it and how good a job you want really. gravel would prob look the best though. all the best James
  24. hi, no worries, sounds good, i shall have a go, not sure il get it done this week either as fairly busy but shall get on as soon as i can, need to get a new distribution valve as well, you using a standard range rover/ called pressure valve i believe? Many thanks James
  25. Hi Max-ie, interested in your system, just to clarrify, is this what you have done, little diagram!!! you have put t-pieces on both front callipers to make single circuits and then T-pieced these together so you have a single front system for the front brakes, are you running this circuit of the nearest to bulkhead outlet on master cylender or furthest one away? and then running a second circuit to the rear vier a ditribution valve? see diagram if it works!!! have you tried this yet? or still building it? Many thanks James
