  1. Can you still get the twin pod lights for the FL1? been having a search online but nothing coming up bar the ones that fit to the bonnet/ roof. Regards Marty
  2. Your fixing something thats not really broken as yet. I wouldnt strip the head off unless the gasket was away. By all means do the thermostat upgrade buts thats about it. Just keep the K series well serviced up and oil clean & water levels right and it will be fine. Regards Martin
  3. Just swap over the dizzy cap, and rocker cover will be easier
  4. Check the fuel cut of switch - same side as the battery - under the scuttle - should have a red or black cover over it
  5. Disconnect the battery for 10 mins then reconnect and use the remote to open & lock the doors and normal and try and start it again. (Make sure you have the radio code 1st before taking battery off :-) lol) hth marty
  6. If the head is scrap I have one, its the auto tensioner type, but would need built up again - (valves) as it was stripped and cleaned
  7. Now sorted part is no longer available - but a search did come up with http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&prev=/search%3Fq%3DTVF000010%26hl%3Den%26safe%3Dactive%26sa%3DG&rurl=translate.google.co.uk&sl=fi&u=http://www.offroadpaja.fi/Landrover/Haitarikumi.htm so a steering gaitor sorts the problem Thanks again western for your help Marty
  8. Its a small rubber gaitor - but I just need the plastic O clip as such that holds in in place. It fits onto the slider part of the shaft
  9. Is the plastic collar available as a part that holds the rubber boot in place on the front prop shaft (IRD end) on a 2002 1.8 freelander? had a quick search online part number came up is TVF000010 but its no longer available??? regards Marty
  10. Now sorted, back up and running, vac filled the coolant and all seems to be well. Marty
  11. Thanks Les, got it back in about an hr ago, if only this bl**dy rain would stay off! summer??? summer?? where lol Just the aircon pump, and the tin wear to bolt back on and sort the prop out. then hope the god the clutch works lol Thanks again Marty
  12. After changing the clutch on my 2002 1.8 freelander, all went well, until i lifted the engine back in I cant seem to get the engine to push back on the drivers side to line up with the engine mount bolts. I had a quick look under at the prop shaft and it seem a white collar as came a drift (oil/grease is oozing out), is the prop shaft stopping the engine from lining up? if so is it best just to unbolt the whole shaft sort the engine out and then fix the collar back in and refit? Thanks in advance Marty
  13. Check the wires at the starter motor - the spade connection sometimes become loose and you get the problem you have Regards Martin

    STUCK

Are the cam wheels on the right way round??? have a look at http://forums.mg-rover.org/showthread.php?t=395705 make sure you have them the right way round. Where abouts in the world are you leeg? If the timing marks are correct - make sure all the electrical leads are on right, check the crank shaft sensor and coil leads (feed leads) arent mixed up as they have the same connection.
  15. This problem has came about over the last few days the trip milege seems to be resetting to zero when lift over night - as if the battery is going flat - battery has tested ok - radio etc.. is keeping it code - any ideas? Marty
  16. Try resetting the fuel cut of switch - right hand side under the bonnet. If its not that check fuses and ground wires
  17. I hope that was a paint job gone wrong lol you have to ask youself WHY!!!!! 2 good things tho, 1. no one wld ever nick it 2. never loose it again in a car park it glows!
  18. Sounds like a broken earth lead to the chassis? check the earth lead to the chassis make sure is connected and in good nick.
  19. If i was you id look at getting a new head. Once they are skimmed they seem to give more trouble than enough. The machine shop will be able to tell if its been skimmed or not.
  20. Its a simple job about 45mins all in. Dont forget to get some good RTV sealant to reseal the sump to the block! or those 10mm bolts will properly have to come out again lol. Did this job myself a few months back
  21. Compression test the engine, injector leak test Something is wrong with the engine not the cat. If you need injectors pm me i no where there is a freelander being broke up in the north and the guy is great to deal with
  22. Leaky injectors? pressure valve on the fuel pump? - is the compression good on the engine?
  23. Look at Les's how to's to see how you can get extra leavage etc... dont just do them up with one spanner as it most likely wont be tight enough - and as the 7 bolts are the only thing thats holds the wheel on care is needed!!!!
