Do you mean Standard height ?

Unless you want to lift it, You can get different height springs in various strengths, but using heavy duty springs without a load will make the ride harsh. where as softer springs are more compliant. The air assist bags fit inside the coils and are inflated when required. you can also get spring assistors which are basically rubber blocks which stop a coil compressing.

  2. The chances of it getting lost twice are slim. If they are unwilling to send it tracked then they should be willing to accept the consequences. I would inform them it hasn't arrived, clarify that they have sent it and to what address, give it one week to see what happens. If it still hasn't arrived complain again.

  3. Hi Keith, Welcome to the forum. Tyre choice will give as many responses as there are options, I personally prefer a 750/16 all terrain  others prefer a wider footprint. A lot will depend on your budget and what type of off roading you plan to do. Green lanes generally only require a reasonable all terrain but pay and play you will need some thing a little more aggressive.

  4. From what I can see of your roof structure the cross beams are there to stop the roof beams from pushing out with the weight, unlike a full truss which transmits weight to the cross beams. Cutting one beam as your plan will not be a problem, I would use some suitable length wood screws into pilot holes rather than nailing as the beam will be in tension. if you fix some flooring around the trap door it will also aid strength. As for putting the compressor above could you just put the reservoir up in the roof and keep the pump elsewhere?

  5. I also agree, the members on here have been so helpful to many of us in our trials during rebuilds or just ownership. I hope you all have a good Christmas to those who celebrate and a healthy, joyous & prosperous new year to all.And yes we should give extra thanks to those who work the festive season to keep us safe and well.🤶🎅

Diesel filters tend to be much more effective than petrol in-line filters - they are much finer and trap more, which is why they have to be so much bigger to allow the fuel flow rate.  I don't think an in-line filter would be a good idea with fuel injection, only carbs.

Modern petrol vehicles use inline filter canisters which are more than adequate for large volume injected engines. If fitted on the chassis rail with a "P" clip you wouldn't know it was there. (until it blocks up).

Lots of good advice on the 'house end' but the way I read the OP is to find out what/where to source or replace the connection to the unit itself, which from Arjan's pics is clearly none of the above?

Not as I read it, Eightpot clearly says he has the mains cable connected to the heater.

I woukdsugestfrom a safety point of view a blue Hubble plug (some people call them caravan plugs.) and socket with a blue Arctic cable. You will need to fit a Hubble socket either outside or in the garage And a long lead.

I Do recommend the use the heater in the garage as a fire could spread to the house.

I thought Hubble was just a brand name. I used the term caravan plug as most people recognise them as such. You can run the lead off a standard 3 pin plug and socket as it is only pulling 13 amp, but I would recommend an outlet with a built in rcd. unit similiar to this https://www.screwfix.com/p/british-general-13a-2-gang-rcd-switched-plug-socket-metal-clad/4714p#_=p

  9. Welcome to the forum Pete, and congratulations on buying the best engine Disco out. If that is an original Camel Trophy vehicle I would leave it as it is. Their values only seem to increase. There are lots of v8 manuals around often cheaper than the 300tdi's if you can find one with lpg fitted it will also reduce your running costs. Yes the fly wheel is the same on a Range Rover, The diesel boxes will not fit without changing the bell housing and input shaft I believe. All the best with what ever you decide to do. I find the auto boxes a little too slushy for my liking but you do get used to it.
