roamingyak
I'm after a new Kenitic recovery rope - anything to be aware of when buying - major differences between brands etc?
Arjan
Go for a branded quality one if you really want one. I stay away from them as I've seen a few very nasty accidents with them when the attachment points are not as good as they were beleived to be.. IF you use them, use a safety bridlle to keep things from flying too far...
roamingyak
I've never had the need for one previously, normally always been able to pull directly out using a normal tow rope, but always keen to try new exciting things 😉 What are the brands to look for? garrycol
Do not get one that has a higher load rating than you need - when used at lower load rating than designed they so not stretch much and provide high shock loads.
Roverdrive
You might want to have a look at this link http://www.pirate4x4.com/tech/billavista/Recovery/ It will give some ideas of the forces involved in recovery. I prefer winch recovery where possible as you can control the forces applied. KERR puts a lot of force in to the operation, and if a recovery point fails can be lethal. Â Just my 2P worth.
