Alpine window diy

Recommended Posts

Hi

I've decided to install alpine windows into my 90 van. I've made the cut using a template and the hole is bang on to the template. I'm having difficulty getting the window to sit right in the seal. The hole where the bead strip goes seems very tight. My thoughts are to file the hole larger and keep trying to fit it but I don't want to go too big. Anybody done this before got any advice or help?

Cheers

Tom

Just a thought - you might want to try getting someone to push up on the roof when you try to fot the bead, as when I removed mine I could not believe how wobbly the roof became without them. They obvoiusly add considerable 'integrity' to the roof so perhaps thats a factor?   Otherwise rub the bead with liquid soap to help it along.
