Paddocks
I have an 07 Puma 90 SW. One of the rear glass-mounted electrical spade connectors for the high-level brake light has detached from the glass. Can anyone suggest best way to re-attach please? Landy7
I just ran a new wire under the seal, works like a charm and less likely to break Like this: https://www.lrukforums.com/threads/mot-defender-high-level-3rd-brake-light.135488/ Edited January 6, 2020 by Koen110
miketomcat
There used to be an epoxy with metal fillings in it for this sort of thing. Not sure how effective it will be though. Mike
western
Would Chemical metal or something like this work https://www.amazon.co.uk/Cargo-QuikSteel-Steel-Reinforced-Repair/dp/B00Q6XBEXM/ref=asc_df_B00Q6XBEXM/?tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=231908893094&hvpos=1o6&hvnetw=g&hvrand=12656113277449248654&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1006597&hvtargid=pla-615624082778&psc=
simonb
You can actually re-solder it. Use a standard 25W electrical soldering iron, and clean up the tag and rear window strip with wire wool. Tin both the components and then solder together. The glass is toughened and designed to get warm - you will only need a few seconds to heat up thin metal strip on the glass. Epoxy, even metal loaded is unlikely to work as they won't be conductive enough.
