'Water In Diesel Filter' Warning Light

Hi everyone, so about a month ago I decided to tackle the job of getting rid of the 'water in diesel filter' warning light on my 2000' Discovery 2 TD5, because the light kept coming on and off. So I unscrewed the sensor let the water drain out until I saw only pure diesel coming out, and I decided I was going to clean up the sensor as well. So after putting the sensor back and plugging the connector back in, I turned the disco on and now it stays on all the time eventhough I drained all the water out of the filter. Has anyone encountered this issue before?
