Competent speaker/audio setup advice.

Recommended Posts

All this talk of subwoofer locker boxes and this being the right time to finish the audio situation before the rest of the car interior gets put in led to a purchase.

Slight issue though, the holes in the locker don't line up with my seat base plate rivnuts. You will be able to see from the pictures if they are abnormally wide-spaced, but I don't see how they can be.

If fitted in the middle no holes line up:

If fitted so at least two line up, you can see how far off-centre this puts the box:

I don't really want to drill new holes but there won't be much option. Just confused as this is meant to pick up on the mounting holes for a standard cubby box.

Another thing to consider, this locker is far taller than you might expect and is going to raise any cubby box far higher than might be comfortable. Certainly an MSS box or something similar is going to be out.

Just to update on this - I went for it and purchased the EVO93 Pioneer unit. It has ended up exactly where I wanted it and looks really good IMO. It would be fair to say that my new setup is loud enough
