simonpelly
Hi Folks, Looking to refit a wheel mounted bonnet kit to Defender 110 300Tdi. Current wheel mount bracket is corroded. The instructions seem to suggest some sort of paste/glue required. Please could folk help me understand what this is and its purpose. Attached some images for reference. Thanks for any help and insight here! Simon...
western
at a guess it's primer or body colour touch up paint to re-paint the edges of drilled holes. I'll have a look on my RAVE CD to see if there is a part number reference. no info as to the touch up reference on my older RAVE cd's. Snagger
I agree with Ralph - it’ll be touch up paint to prevent corrosion and to match the rivet heads to the surrounding paint. I fitted all these parts to my plain Defender bonnet, and there is no bonding, only rivets and and the studs and nuts of the four rubber buffers.
simonpelly
Thanks guys. Worried that there would be bonding. Glad to hear otherwise. Simon...
