Tom Grant
Hello everyone! Im currently installing a mudstuff centre console to which I am adding a number of carling switches. What I am trying to do is wire in the illumination to the switches, so that when I turn on the lights they are lit up. Now I’m no expert when it comes to electrics so please bare with me in this 😂. if anybody could explain to me what to find and how to connect this up? cheers Tom
HampshireHog
Follow the carling wiring sheet that should come with the switch , available on line as well , and take the feed from the dash illumination, red / white trace I think or white / red trace .
FridgeFreezer
Red wire with a white stripe is dash illumination White with a red stripe is the starter motor, might be fun to have the switches only light up when cranking I suppose 1
landroversforever
Have a look for the carling wiring diagram. Worth bearing in mind that they have two sets of illumination.... they have the symbol illumination which is done with the side lights and they have the illumination which shows when its turned on. If I remember correctly, the latter isn't done internally in the switch.
