Ramp7
I've read that some people do this for a variety of reasons, improved brake performance and handling improvement. There is some fabrication required for the Disco axels to be mounted to leaf springs. One subject I have not seen discussed is the axel ratio change and if one is using the 2.25L engine do you swap out differential gear ratios back to Series III which I believe is 4.7.1. Now if a larger engine were installed maybe this wouldn't be an issue. Curious as to comments.
Stellaghost
You don't have to swap back to the series diffs, people have been using 10 spline higher ratio diffs in their series vehicles for years as with any changes there is always some small compromises but it would be up to you to decide which diff combination you prefer regards Stephen
missingsid
Ratio change will definitely alter the driveabity of your vehicle and needs to be considered.
smallfry
But wouldnt the wheels stick out a long way on a series ? Disco 2 axles are wider than Defender type
Ramp7
Discovery axels are indeed longer. Fender flares might be necessary.
