kevin50 Posted March 13, 2022 Share Posted March 13, 2022 Fitted all new parts to hand brake today but bloody drum wont go back on, adjuster is all the way in and operating rod all the way out, must be on;y a couple of mil or so, dont know what ive done wrong. Yes Mate we came to the conclusion that they were the wrong shoes put in the box for some reason, someone suggested grinding a little off each corner where they fit in to the adjuster and operating rod ends did that and it worked . Cornish Rattler Posted April 6, 2022 Share Posted April 6, 2022 Probably blue box ones as each set they make is never egzackt same, when i was restoring mine over 5 yrs ago i replaced all shoes with blue box ones and had all sorts of problems, drums wouldn't fit or adjustment problems it turned out in the haynes book it said each shoe lining should be 8 1/2" long and all 8 shoes measured between 8 1/2" long to 9 1/2" long so i replaced them with almakes ones and everything was ok.
