Holyzeus
Anyone used the Armour ring or NOGO security devices for winch bolts? Thoughts?
simonr
Anyone used the Armour ring or NOGO security devices for winch bolts? Thoughts? All these things are a good idea - but you could just stick a blob of weld on it which will give at least the same level of security. BogMonster
Or be like Nigel_from_Hell and bolt your winch on with 148 bolts which means that anybody with less than a week to spare would take one look and walk away

Holyzeus
Read it on a forum, not this one? Cant remember where, that there were tests done and welding the bolts seriously weakens them
ciderman
Your right ! The properties of a high tensile bolt can seriously be altered by applying excessive heat. IIRC its stated also in the Warn 8274 fitting instructions , They recomend to weld a small steel channell over the bolt head .
