02GF74
Is there an adaptor to convert a sankey trailer plug to civvy type caravan socket or do i have to chop itoff and replace with a civvy plug???? no. you have 4 choices: 1. do what ralph suggests (mil socket is expensive and quite hard to source) also mil socket is panel mounted so not ideal for this purpose. 2. fit caravan socket instead of the nato traler socket. 3. fit both type sockets on crossmember 4. fit mil socket and make converter lead to civ. socket - there should be more mil. plugs around due to people opting for 2. and I think you can buy civ. sockets that are not panel mounted. If you go with 2. make sure you have the pin wiring info. and label the cables first - AFAIK the wiring to the plug in the sankey is all one colour - yellow!
