Francis
I need the screw in plug for this hole!!! When I bought the Landie it was missing!!! I am looking at the following item on ebay, is it correct? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/DEFENDER-90-110-MAGN...bayphotohosting I already bought one wrong plug and this guy doesn't reply to email so don't want to but the wrong thing again! Oh and the Landie is about to get it's first lot of road tax in 4 years!!! One more on the road! Look forward to meeting some of you and going mud churning. Lars L
Nope, the hole is for the wading plug which is meant to keep water out of the clutch. You don't need one unless you drive in deep water. I'm not sure for the V8, but for other Landys, a BSP1/4" plug fits and can be had for almost nothing at a plumber.
Guest WALFY
Wading plug and V8 in the same sentence? Unusual combination of phrases :D

white90
I may be mistaken but you may have a leak or two under that vehicle
Les Henson
In order to repair the damage you need to fit a stinky diesel and then a wading plug. You can drive in the rain then Les
Francis
Thanks guys. I know it's a little dirty under there. Need to take it to my friends, get under it and jetwash. Find out where the leaks are. Marvellous eh? Road tax going on tomorrow. Insurance starts at midnight. Already found someone to respray it. Now looking for some nicer wheels. Bull Bar Cowboy
Yes. it’s the wading plug and the plug is already there and stored in its correct place. In the picture look to the left of the identified hole and you will note a square headed plug ………. This is the storage position on the bellhousing for the wading plug. Before you enter deep water, just reach underneath and unscrew the plug from is storage position and then screw it into the hole. The square head size in 10mm.
