joopkeizer
Dear members, I have a 1973 Sovereign Internationl 31' GVWR 7100 Lbs and want to buy a Landrover Defender 130 2007 to pull it. Because the Airstream will stay original I need to where I can find a US tow Hitch with WD (weight distribution) for this jeep Many thanks for your reply, Joop Keizer
western
If your in the UK, the standard 130 tow hitch mounting will be fine as a USA type hitch is not legal for UK use, if your in Europe or USA you'll have to comply with the relevant regulations as well. not sure what you mean by the weight distribution part ? Old Spot
Dont try using a 50mm european hitch if your Airstream has the 2" us coupling, it goes on fine but comes off fine somewhere along the road!
Ex Member
This what he is talking about. http://www.etrailer.com/faq/aboutwd.asp You pretty much need a class 4 receiver and then you could mail order the hitch parts. Probably tough to get a receiver hitch in the UK as they use those silly plow shaped things on the back. http://www.trailersnhitches.com/receiverhitchindex.htm http://trailersnhitches.com/putnam/hitchac.../weightdist.htm You could probably mail order a receiver from the States, but as stated, it probably is not legal in the UK. western
aH, got it now, what's known in the UK as a anti-sway or stabiliser, UK ones look like a single leaf spring anchored at the vehilce end & sits on a slipper pad at the trailer drawbar end.
