smo
I'm planning on having 2 of the above, they are sealed deep cycle/starter batteries, they will be used to power my TD5 D-Lander with front and rear electric winches, and all the usual auxillaries. But which do i get, cheaper, smaller, lighter but less capacity, or bigg heavy beefy jobbies??

smo
Such a simple question yet only 1 vote....
LandyManLuke
In terms of winching, the size of the batteries buys you the time that the Winch(es) are using more current than the alternator can supply. If you're winching seriously, you'll never be able to meet demand (400A winch, 150A alternator?) There's not that much between the batteries you've selected really. Are you getting Deep cycle, or Starter batteries? the two are completely different. Factors like the space you have to house the batteries, and cost, are going to play important parts, i'd get the biggest that would fit. Actually i wouldn't, i'm fitting proper winches, but y'know.....
smo
As you see, cost isnt massive, space i can manage but want to keep weight down. They are marin/leisure batteries which are deep cycle, however are rated for starting too so its not a problem for either use.
Guest WALFY
The vote is mine. I'd personally fit the biggest batts that you can fit in the given space avail.
FridgeFreezer
Big, bigger, best Since a battery is a fairly vital part, especially on a vehicle fitted with electric toasters, go big. You can save weight elsewhere.
Paul Wightman
Where do you get Numax batteries from?
SteveG
Any major marine or caravan supplies normally stock the Numax heavy duty batteries. Cheers Steve
Tonk
are you planning a split charge? if not then none of the above, i'd just fit one bigger battery.
