landrover598
Well you've seen my very basic setup, an electric compressor filling a small tank, a few fittings, pressure switch and an airline connection.

LandyManLuke
I think you'll need a pretty big air tank to run air tools off an electric compressor, unless its huge. an air con compressor on the other hand has high enough output that it won't need a big tank. landrover598
does it run air tools? No, I'm happy to use hand tools, and dont want the extra weight of a big tank and rattle gun.
Diff
My simplified on board air system: http://forums.lr4x4.com/index.php?showtopic=13723 Regards, Diff
SteveG
A cost effective option is to use a T-max Heavy Duty compressor. You could simply install with a fused feed straight from battery. A number of people on here are using them. To run air tools you'd need to install a tank to get an ok flow rate. A regulator can be used for the feed to locker/s. Won't be as cheap as other options, but if you want simple here's a link to what I did. Viair Onboard air kit I fitted a 100% duty cycle Viair onboard air kit, that cost about 230 pounds IIRC.
