We had to find another crossing but didn't want to pay another days park fees. We were lucky. We were told to cross the river in a certain spot, which we soon found, The river although floodesd wasn't flowing. It didn't look deep. I selected second low range and center difflock. We proceeded to cross. A nice bow wave, water to the top of the wheels. About 30ft from the other, exit, bank it happened. IT FELL INTO A HOLE.... Water over the bonnet. Panic time for the driver.... A racing change from low second to low first had the Defender climbing out. Then onto the bank. NO I didn't walk it first. Would you with four crocs on the surface. Because I'd taken my time...
