Asuming that the axle is in its original factory state you can: 1. read the article in the Tech Archive section of this forum: http://forums.lr4x4.com/index.php?showtopic=15209 2. get the serial number punched on the axle and someone (including me) will tell you how many splines is supposed to have. For flat shaft ends/thin flange based on Disco axles if it has no original anti roll bar brackets it is most likely 10 spline and if it has original anti roll bar brackets then most likely 24 spline. bishbosh Posted January 20, 2008 Share Posted January 20, 2008 Ah Mr Wuuuuuuuuurrrrrrrrzzzzzzzzzzle, it be not so simple as that - my RR is 10 spline metric The ONLY way to be certain is to pull a half shaft which, as Luke says is a 10 minute job at most. Having said all that, if the axle is an 88 RR one and unmolested it will be 10 spline. Change over for the RR was 1992 ish. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
