Ced
all, I was unbolting the the steering pump of my Td5 to replace this with for a full hydraulic steering pump system (PSC). BUT, once it was off, I found out that, there is a shaft going through the std steeringpump, to power up the waterpump also ? Anyone an idea how I can adapt this, to make the waterpump working independent ?? Or, does anyone know if PSC has such a pump, so I can keep drinving my waterpump ?? Thanks, Ced
D9OSV
Do not bother trying to find a pump with a rear drive, you probably won't find one and if you do the specs will be wrong Leave your orginal PAS pump but part fill with oil and plug the holes and use it as an idler pulley then run your bigger pump either where the ACE pump or air compressor would fit. Keeps it simple that way. Jim
Ced
Jim, Thanks already for this info.......... I had that in mind. BUT, where the ACE is supposed to sit, I have a 2nd Alternator ............
simonr
Although space might be a bit tight, through drive alternators are fairly common (usually used to drive the brake vacuum pump on diesels). It might be possible to adapt one of these to drive the hydraulic pump? Si

simonr
Sorry for being a bit daft but whats PSC? An American company who sell Hydro steering components. Pretty good value at the moment - and they know their onions! Si
