Les Henson
These guys - http://www.spencerrecons.co.uk/ £250 for a re-con 200TDi block seems awfully cheap, but then 're-con' can mean almost anything Les.
pat_pending
Never heard of them, but at that price i'd expect it's just a bare crack tested rebored block less pistons with maybe new core plugs and a thread inspection and a clean. Exchange rather than outright too. So, rebore at say £30 a bore= £120, £20 for a chemy clean, a few £s worth of core plugs and an hours labour. mike4444244
or quite possibly half an hours work with a steam cleaner and some paint like all the dodgy 'recon' mini engines on ebay! mike
BogMonster
emphasis being on the "con" rather than the "re" then
Les Henson
Well the alternatives are scrap it or sleeve and bore to standard at a cost of £568. Les.

Big_Jon
I visited these guys about a year ago as they were breaking an old 90 and I was interested in some bits and pieces. I found them to be quite unfriendly/unhelpful and looking at the state of the workshop I recall thinking that I would never take an engine of mine there for a recon.
