Graham Thomson
Anyone know? before i buy a magnetic aerial? - and it's 1989 vintage, not 1998!!
headhunter
Is this a trick question? If not, the roof will be alloy, thus not magnetic. You could fix a steel plate to hold a magnetic aerial. Glue it to avoid galvanic corrosion. John
upnover4x4
Have a chat with "Tris Cocks" he had some vision of sticking signs to the side of my truck using some new fangled aliminium magnets. But seriously, you could bond a bit of steel plate to the roof using epoxy resin. Adrian
BigSi110
Why not drill a hole? It's what I did. Painful, but if it's for keeps then why not? Better reception and a more 'factory' job too.
western
It'a a alloy roof Graham, so no good for magnetic antenna mounts, you could use a side mount attached to the panel above the left or right small windos each side of the rear door or a gutter mount. Philip Tonkin
as in LR's type birmabright alloy [a aluminium variant] That 0.66% Magnesium makes all the difference! Let's just call it Aluminium.
