What to do in the back?

Recommended Posts

Mainly for comfort for the dog :unsure: who gets slung all over the place...

I was wondering what you guys have done in the back of your 90 vans? Have you boarded them out then covered in some sort of carpet material? I've also seen these drawers in the floor, can you buy a kit of ready made bits to achieve this or is it a jogsaw and MDF DIY job!?

Some pictures to give me ideas would be nice....

Thanks

Sam,

This is what Martin built (a lovely job :) ) and here are pictures of Mark's drawer build (another lovely job) and mine.

I have a quilted bed on top of mine for my dogs but I have to lift them in as it's so high, good job they are only little dogs :)

Cheers for that Mo!!! :rolleyes:

Sam, the story behind my drawer build is that I was in the same place you are in now. I wanted something to tidy up the back mainly for expedition use.

Since those pictures were taken, I have fitted a handle & lock to the drawer, and handles in each of the storage chest compartments. I also covered the whole lot in ribbed rubber matting, making it easy to wipe down/sweep out.

fit tie down points and ratchet the dog down!

mines runs along next to the truck most of the time, finds it tricky on the M5 so i stay in the inside lane so she can concentrate on the truck and not worry about too much about other cars.

alternatively fit some MDF to the sides then remove it and cover with carpet (glue it on) add some kipmat to soundproof the panels and then refit the carpet covered sides. to stop the dog being moved around fit something they can lean up against or brace against or stick them in the front footwell - passenger side works better for ease of driving........

cos he's a dog, not a lion ;)

:hysterical::hysterical::hysterical:

I have a gen land rover rear load space mat. Rubber one with the land rover logo in the mddle. And goes up over the arches. Get them from any land rover parts place and cost about £65 when i last looked

My dogs seem fine and never slip in the back of the 90
