Orgasmic Farmer Posted July 10, 2008 Share Posted July 10, 2008 In a moment of madness at a past committee meeting I suggested that since this was Land Rovers 60th anniversary year and since so many farmers still drive the Marque in this part of the world then perhaps we should put on something special at our summer agricultural show. Anyway, we are having a parade of Land rovers, young and old in the main ring on the afternoon of the 2nd August at Llanthony which is about 10 miles from Abergavenny in South Wales. Entry to the show is £4 for adults and £2 for kids. Anyone who takes part in the parade will be able to be judged in various categories including oldest vehicle highest mileage scruffiest truck most modified best in show Prizes have been generously donated by MDP Land Rovers of Raglan, All Terrain Rovers, and 4x4 Parts Abergavenny. Vehicles should be road legal and we are planning on a dedicated parking area where you will be able to display your truck for the public if you so wish. The show is very small scale and typical of a Welsh Community Agricultural show. There are cattle sheep and horse competitions, show jumping, a fell race, a large produce tent where you can enter your veg or cakes and an excellent childrens sports event. There is on field catering and a beer tent. We normally have about 3-4000 visitors and it is always great fun, very relaxed and its a beautiful setting. Oh, and don't forget the rodeo which anyone brave enough can take part in.... real wild horses too! We have a website (bit poor sorry) where you can read the programme as a pdf file. Its says 2007 there but due to the show being cancelled last year because of the bad weather we are running the same programme (plus the Land Rover event. So if you and the family are free on the 2nd August and fancy bringing your pride and joy down for a day our then you would be most welcome. Maybe see you there?
